Howdy Clowder!

Are any of you K-cup users? If so starbucksstore.com is having a buy one get one sale on their 16 count boxes. Just add any two 16 count boxes to your cart and it's automatic.

Things are going fast however, when I did mine there was only French Roast and Pike Place flavors left in the 16ct. Fortunately for me I love their French Roast.

There's also a 10% off code for new customers: STNPWEKD

All together I got 64 K-cups shipped for $31.86.

I've got one of the larger capacity Vue Keurigs and usually just pack my own coffee. But I do have an adapter that allows the use of K-cups so I couldn't pass this up.

OMG Poeia - you were right about these sleeping bag slippers! :D

Ordered some for my wife for Tuesday delivery and they didn't show up (UPS delay). But, they came yesterday, and wouldn't you know it, they're the wrong size. So, had to order another pair which should be here on Monday.

Good morning, Clowder!

Just wanted y'all to know that as we close out the last few days of 2013, I'm running a new code...

Happy2014 will get you 20.14% off from now until sometime on the 2nd.

This way, if you missed the Christmas code, you can still get a good deal for the next few days. :)

Very nice. Not posting it so Trav can post his pretty version.

I need coffee. My alarm went off. I hit the snooze alarm. 15 minutes later it went off again at the same time the phone rang. I managed to focus on the caller ID -- Dad's cell phone -- on the last ring. So I turned the alarm off and called back. No answer. I tried a few more times then called his land line.
Dad: Hello.
Me: Hi, Dad.
Dad: Who's this?
Me: Jane
Dad: What are you doing up so early?

Anyway, as soon as I get caffeinated, I'm off to see him for the day (and my sister who is visiting today as well.)

I take mine off periodically for half an hour or so because my feet get soooooo warm in them. (But never sweaty)

Haven't had to do that yet, except for going out or going to bed. :) But you mention one of the things I really like about these: never sweaty! My old slippers did, and I hated that! I love these...I feel I should give you something in exchange! And to Deej for hijacking his thread about them! :?:

OK, back on track... just got my new order... so happy to have Strawberry Cheezcakez and Lime Cheezcakez again! :D

I was running to Dad's today and didn't have time to find the sneakers that I can fit socks under so I just slipped on some shoes -- and tossed the slippers into my bag. I walked around in them all day, then got home and put the booties back on.

At the station, they can take several people who are going in the same direction. The first cab in line was going south so I was in the second cab. I was on the curb, taking a puff or two before leaving when the next woman came and she was going the same way. She said something like "I can't" or "There's someone here" and I said it was no problem, I'd go around and get in on the other side.

As I sat down, I heard her saying she couldn't sit next to me, I was smoking. I said "I'm not smoking..." "But you were. I saw you." I explained that it was an electronic cigarette and there was no smoke, no tar, no cigarette smell. "I'm going to visit my grandchildren. I can't go se them, smelling like that." I tried to explain that the smell was Vanilla Cola and there was no second hand smoke anyway but she was busy exclaiming that she knew all about it. She was an ex-smoker herself but she couldn't go visit her grandchildren after sitting next to me. I tried one more time but she moved on to the next cab.

My driver and his friend got in the front seat and, just before we drove away we could hear her telling the driver of the next cab how she understood all about it, she was an ex-smoker. My driver and friend were laughing because, apparently, all the drivers of the company that owns the other cab are smokers. They smoke in their cars when they don't have passengers then open the windows. (Also, the friend's sister quit a 40-year habit a few months ago with PVs.)

The more I think about it, there was too much fuss about not being near her grandchildren after being near a smoker. That's not the way second-hand smoke works and an ex-smoker would know it. My guess is that she's not as "ex" as she was proclaiming and if they smelled cigarette smoke her son/daughter and grandchildren would accuse granny of falling off the wagon.
