... And bless the internet. Dad needed Dove moisturizer (my neighborhood Rite Aid and Duane Reade don't have it), talc and denture cleanser. Click, click and Amazon will send it. How did the elderly and shut-ins cope before that?

Actually I think places like Amazon, eBay, Pizza Hut & Dominos, etc etc are creating a whole new much larger generation of shut ins.

Heck you can even do your grocery shopping online now and have them delivered. I do it to save time, but the store I use has drive up lanes. You put your order in the night before, and select your pickup time (1hr window). Then just drive up, they'll go over any substitutions or missing items, take your card, then come back and load your car.

All for free! Well there is a $5 added "handler fee" but the receipt always says "waived".

They're going to be offering delivery soon, but I'm thinking there will be a charge for that and I'm sure the delivery time window would have to be much more flexible than 1 hour.

Come to think of it, I hardly ever even step into a store anymore. With Amazon, Walmart, Sears, Kmart, Newegg, all being online.

Games may start a bit latter than usual today... I'm desperate for a nap...
You mean they're going to start a bit later than they have recently because you want to vary the start time so people who are busy in the morning can get a chance to play.

I am capable of not unlocking my apartment door for over 24 hours at a time but I do go to stores in person. Even if I'm getting takeout, I go to the restaurant and pick it up. (And, no, it's not because I'm too cheap to tip.) When I was working and was going to be tied to my desk through lunch, I'd still go downstairs to stretch my legs, see that there was a world outside my office walls and pick up a sandwich.

It has it's ups & downs. It really depends on who's picking your order. I go every 2 weeks and I'd say overall I'm 98.5% satisfied.

With delivery though, there'd be no options to correct anything, you could either just accept or refuse any substitutions.

They sometimes will make substitutions on sizes or flavors if what you ask for is not available (or the order picker can't find it). At the pickup they'll sometimes even bring options out for you to choose from. Most often I find what substitutions they make to be acceptable.

On the ordering webpage, there are options to leave comments regarding any item. On a couple items I learned to be very specific. For example there's these Special K crackers I usually get. But about 50% of the time (again depending on who picked the order) They'd give me these Special K baked chips instead. Since they thought they were grabbing the right thing, they wouldn't notify me of the substitution and I wouldn't know until I got home.

So in the comment section for that item I simply put "crackers not chips" and it's been fine ever since. Oh and the comment even stays with the item from week to week.

Basically what I'm saying is it takes a little trial and error learning what to expect and a little fine tuning. But overall I'm very satisfied.
