Good morning, daleSunny and 44 for us today. Woo-Hoo.
Deej, the liquids that i got from that accidental order were added to the raffle at last night's meet and were happily received by the people that won them![]()
Really into my peppermints today -- Poeia's MG and Peppermint + Chocolate Taffies (aka Peppermint Patty Taffy.) Hadn't vaped them much for a couple of weeks so it's a lovely change.
Like the redesign, Deej. Had to search for a minute for Sweetness, but that will get easier with familiarity.
If you become a supplier, will you have to ask us if we are 18 yet?
interesting question...
I'm not sure if I'll have to do that or not. Right now, you CAN'T buy unless you have an account, and I check the birthdate when somebody creates a new account.
I imagine eventually I'll have to play with age-verification software that uses some form of 3rd party database... not looking forward to it, though. I still hear/see horror stories with it.
It's pure "CYA."The ones when you enter a site and ask your age couldn't possibly be checking against any database, I put in random crap all the time. Then there's the "click here if you're 18" "here if you're not" couldn't be checking against anything either.
I'm pretty sure that's all your site would need though.
Unless someone actually logs in there's no way to know who they are. Forcing people to create an account would kill casual browsing sales.
Now if you're talking after the sale, not many places ask for my birthday as part of the account creation. But I suppose it's possible they could be using my name, address, & CC info against some sort of database. Sounds like a real pain to me.
Why do they bother putting age restrictions on these things when all you have to do is click, “Yes, I am 18”? Even a 17-year-old can figure that out.
