He looks a lot better today. Around his eyes and his ears are not as pink. The vet wasn't open today...duh! So we are taking him in the morning to be checked out. He's so freaking cute, I really hope Dave lets me keep him.....he doesn't think Monkey will allow us to have another cat.

Monkey is a cat? I thought you have a pet monkey.

If they are different genders and the new one accepts that Monkey is top cat, it can work. Poeia, on the other hand, has yet to accept Annabella. Of course it's only been 15+ years -- she might get used to not being an "only bird" any day now. (They're both female.)

Speaking of Taffy, I noticed you offer a "Grape Bottlecap"?

Bottlecaps are one of my all time favorite candies, I go nuts when I can't find them or haven't had them for a few months. Unfortunately the grapes are probably my least favorite of the box. If I could I'd buy boxes of nothing but the rootbeer and cola bottle caps, but of course that's not an option.

I'm tempted to try it just to see if you've managed to capture the "bottlecap effect". If you did, you of course know what I'd be begging for next.

Curious, though... I've never had bottlecaps candy... can you describe what that effect was?

They're sort of like a sweet-tart in texture but I'd probably say a little softer in the teeth. Disks of course with one edge being scalloped to resemble a bottlecap.

They come in a mixed bag or box with Rootbeer, cola, grape, orange, and cherry flavors mixed and do a pretty good job of approximating old school generic soda flavors. Though the fruit flavored ones are a little on the tart side. They have a very slight "fizz effect" to them as well.

Why I prefer the rootbeer and cola, is that they're less tart, seem to approximate a more familiar generic soda flavor better, and they also seem to have slightly more pronounced fizz effect than the others. In fact it maybe the tart flavor of the fruits that diminish the effect.

For a long time they were really hard to find and you'd have to go to like those nostalgia candy stores online to get them. But over the last few years they've become part of the Wonka line.

I'd forgotten about the lychee flavor- not sure how i could forget. I loved it. I guess i should start a spreadsheet (and it's back on the ordering list)

Maybe if you called it rootbeer fizz, instead of rootbeer champagne? just sayin'

KT, if monkey lets you put clothes on him, he's got to be tolerant enough to accept your new rescue cat, in something less than 15 years.
