yeah... but my boss can be a real massive pain in the tail at times... typical boss, I guess.
i think being a massive pain is in the job description for even the best of bosses 
My boss is in a completely different building, and i see him once or twice a week at most, AND he's a good boss....yet he STILL has his moments

that's true... sometimes I even start doing some things before he even tells me to!

I'd blame it on your boss, he's supposed to be on top of things like that.
I got a great boss, I just hope he survives. After being in & out of 2 hospitals most of the year, he's now home for at least another month regaining his strength after several surgeries. The 1st hospital and doctors really messed up and delayed stuff, and things got really bad. Thankfully the 2nd hospital was more on the ball but he's got a ways to recover now.
