Reading my e-mail and checked my tracking number. My package is sitting in Phoenix, thank goodness. I had a fear that it would be drowning in Bethpage. Long Island got hit pretty hard. I'm glad the west coast isn't sending stuff east until it's reasonable.

I could swear I posted this last night just before midnight...
I'm from PA just north of Philly.
So much for unwinding though, my little buddy Bunky needs to see a kitty doc I think.
He hasn't been eating much at all lately and is starting to get a little skinny. I was thinking maybe it was just the stress and disruption of routine caused by last week's mess. Not sure how long it would take for that to clear up, but if I take him to the vet he'll really be stressed and definitely not eat. Though they could figure out if it's anything more serious.
I know it's bad when I got a plate of real people tuna sitting here on the floor that was barely touched overnight. It's usually gone in minutes between the 2 of them.
This is when I wish they could talk. I hate the uncertainty.

Oh I thought I had read that you lived in NY, upon re-read I see that you do, in fact, not. Lol- sorry to hear about the sick kitteh- that's no good :-(
Ah well I must wait on poeia (sp again?) then- unless of course that makes you close enough to assist....- my daughter is wanting to use part of he allowance this week to help the disaster relief efforts somehow. It's just a small amount, but I am encouraging the thought that is there, bless her heart. She wants to help directly, not through a group or organization where the funds will be allocated elsewhere. I was banking on the chance that someone from the area hit would possibly know someone directly that could use help, so she could more tangibly see the effect of her assistance (she is 10).

You got it right this time. Poeia, the parrot's, full name is Onomatopoeia so it's Poeia for short. But I'll answer to any variation. It's pronounced Pia but a lot of people at ECF shorten the spelling to "Poe."
I posted earlier -- electricity back last night. All is well where I am. I know parts of NYC got hit hard with the flooding but the worst of the storm was in NJ. If I hear of any org that does a "your dollars did this" thing, I'll let you know.
Trav, my sister is in Bala Cynwyd. She missed the storm as she got stuck in Chicago for an extra 2 days but the storm also missed her block -- no downed trees and minimal electrical outages.
