Alas Bunky, we knew thee well.
Bunky was diagnosed this morning with an abdominal growth. The doc's convinced it's cancer. Sugical / radiological treatment would cost thousands and has a very low success rate. So I've opted to just buy him a little more time.
They gave him a long acting steroids injection along with some hydration and vitamins. This should have his quality of life back closer to normal within a couple days and possibly even result in some shrinkage. If it works I can go back for more every 2 weeks. This course of treatment has the potential to keep him around a few more months at most, with a reasonable quality of life.
I got him as a feral kitten 9 years ago. I don't see myself repeating the treatment too many times as I don't wish to prolong any suffering.
