My poor kitty's wandering around the house meowing & yowling cuz the whole place smells of delicious turkey cooking and there's nothing she can do about it.

Her misery will be over shortly as it's almost done. Soon her seemingly endless torment will be replaced with culinary ectasy (and so will mine!).

She's not big on the sweet potatoes or cornbread stuffing, so I'm thinking I'll have more than my fill of those. However we'll be competing for the bird's succulent offerings.

But I've gut a much larger stomach and can eat faster than she. :D

Perhaps I'll save the last shred for her just to let her think she's won... this time...

Emma came out early, striking a mighty 1st blow when I accidentally dropped a small slice of white meat on the floor. It is after all her domain and rules are rules.

With such a starting off, she lacked the fortitude for the long haul. Gave up early and went to lay her full belly down before I was even 1/2 done.

This once again brings us to the age old mystery question... Is the mess worth the meal?

If I had to base it on just the one holiday meal, I'd probably lean towards no. BUT when you think about all of the awesome leftovers, it tends to gain ground back the other way.

Brings me to another question. What is it about cornbread and cranberry sauce together? Individually their somewhat lackluster, but put them together and wow. :w00t: I think there's some sort of magical secret hidden away there or something.

Emma has yet to learn to pace herself, eh?

Leftovers are teh awezomez...

On the cornbread/cranberry sauce... I think it's a little known chemical reaction. Scientists have been studying it for years, but haven't been able to quite catch how the molecular structure rearranges itself. They have detected the odd neutrino and boson shower, but the actual source seems to elude the detection equipment.

I think they're scheduled to do some tests in the Large Hadron Collider, but I'm not sure.

Poor little Emma's down for the count. I thought sure she'd come looking for round 2 when I came out for the pumpkin pie that I had cooling. But she didn't budge. I've got a new couch fixture it seems, at least it's an attractive one.

That Trip's Classy mystery is just a tad bit too mysterious for my tastes. The Classy mix has at least enough of a description to peak my interests and I'd probably try it. The "Trip conversion" adds yet another layer of mystery but with no clue as to what the changes may be.

I like a little mystery here & there, but when it comes to stuff I'm supposed to consume I like to have some idea what I'm getting into. Even if I read the clues wrong and find out later that I was way off. How do I know Cdr Trip wasn't very fond of horseradish?

I'm shopping (online) while I wait for the Fire Kitty to land on ARC or Peppermint Taffy.

I need a new Mac because my current one will slow to a crawl (a very slow crawl) if I upgrade to current OS, but newest flash player and java aren't backward compatible. Apple, of course, is offering insulting (3%) discounts on a few products but nothing on what I want.

B&H Photo Video Digital Cameras, Photography, Camcorders to the rescue. They've chopped $97 off AppleCare Protection (3-year extended warranty) and $8.15 off the external superdrive (needed if I want my Mac Mini to have a CD/DVD drive.) That's 11.3% off what I was planning to buy and now I'm trying to decide if I can spring for the quad-core instead of the dual-core as a result.

Any thoughts on getting a European hard drive that comes bundled with the American plug adapter? It has the warranty and I figure it's not really any different from getting an adapter brick thingy. (3TB for $109.)

I would do everything I can to get the quad core over the dual core even if I had to do without some of the extra goodies that can be picked up later. That is assuming that the Mac OS and software actually take advantage of the extra cores.

Though I'm not an Apple fan in the least. :p

Regarding the euro-hard drive, you talking external? As long as it's coming with a US power adapter I guess it should be just fine. My concern would be getting warranty service if needed though. Would rather not run it from an adapter if I could avoid it, as it's just one more thing to go wrong. But an adapter replacement itself should be easily obtainable here in the US rather cheaply if needed.

No goodies (unless you count spending $100 to go from "4GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB" to "8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB" a goodie. (I'm looking at the two Mac Minis on the left plus the RAM upgrade.) Mac Minis

Your loss.

It's a Hitachi so I don't think service locations would be a major problem. They have all the other sizes with US plugs for much more. But this price is spectacular.

If I go with the quad-core, then I get 1TB hard drive so I think I need more than 1TB for my Time Machine. (My current computer has 160GB hard drive so I partitioned a 1TB drive for it's backup and that has been plenty.)
HGST External Hard Drive

ETA: Or find me a good external drive on that site for under $150. :D

And, back on topic, Deej, I want liquid!

Probably part of my "issues" with Apple, but $100 for a 4GB upgrade sounds like robbery to me. Normally I'd say "RAM is cheap, go for the quad and get the RAM later". I've always been able to find RAM cheaper than the place I buy the computer from.

For my laptop, I can go from 8GB (2x4 current) to 16 (2x8) for around $50-60. But if that's the best deal around for an Apple, then you may have to get it while you can, I dunno.

Don't know why you're shopping in Europe either. Newegg has a 1TB USB 3.0 for $70 and Amazon has a 3TB USB 3.0 for $107. Neither involves a rebate, both have free shipping.

You can taste the toffee?
