Good for you Jerry...it is great you recognized it.
My husband is an alcoholic so I don't drink very often around him.
I don't want to cause him to go off the wagon :)

He is lucky to have support like that. A lot of people don't realize that just seeing or smelling a drink can trigger the brain to make you want to drink.

Dad was an alcoholic and most our 9 kids are too. Some of us got lucky and have no problem.
My Dad drank very little. I only remember seeing him in a "good mood", one time. He was practically a tee totaler and his brother was an alcoholic. That made my decision to give it up, an easy one.

I think some people are unlucky and have that addiction gene in their dna and drink until it kills them. Some have that gene and fight a lot to stay off or never even start in the first place. Some pick a different addiction to use in place of alcohol. Then there are some who are saints and never have a single problem with addiction. I think the saints are liars and just have an addiction to something "good".

2 of my uncle n laws drank themselves to death :(
My father n law is working on it.
He stopped for 30 years then is wife died a year ago and has started back up. We worry about him.
This does run in the blood.
This is why my husband fights so hard not to drink but there are triggers :(

On my end....it is hard to watch. And not easy on the marriage when he does drink. :)
I love my sober husband, he is kind and gentle and very loving.
But boy, when he falls off.....OMG he is a rude obnoxious .....

I have had to make him go to detox 3 times
I know it is an addiction and an illness but it is hard on me and my Grandson too.
