Hiya Deejerites!

Haven't been around too much cuz work's been kickin my ..... :(

Then when I'm outta work I just wanna crash or at least relax with some netflix.

Doing OK though, I'll be picking up my 60" LED WiFi TV tonight. Just in time for the Superbowl! :w00t:

Managed to snag one of these E601I-A3 and I still haven't even got my tax return yet.

From the looks of things I'll be able to achieve the big one above AND just about all of the other smaller objectives I thought I'd have to choose between (like a new mattress).

Setting up and watching all of the newness off of the TV will keep me busy for a bit. But at least work seems to be slowing down a little. I've already made over 500 new network accounts for this stupid Triaminic recall. I'm thinking that's even more hires than we did for the Tylenol recall.

Edit: Here's the stupid part:
... the last batch of products in question were distributed more than a year ago, so the company believes little remains for sale or in use.

So why all the phonecalls???

Most people will be to lazy to read or look up the details, so they'll just call and ask questions I guess. Others will prolly be looking for something to sue over.

Hmmm...
I do have an etsy account but I've only bought things, never sold them. I tried searching for crochet battery holders on google and I couldn't really find anything so it would be a new market.

I would probably have to sell them at a decently high price otherwise I would literally only make dimes.
I'll have to think about that though. I could always use more money for deejStuff. Thanks Poeia.:)

I probably missed part of this convo- but you crochet? Is that your medium?
I have a reason but if that's not your medium then it's a useless idea lol

Good morning Deejsters :) here in the Last Household we have our Internetz back. When our power went out it occurred to me how painfully unprepared we are for any emergency situation- even one as simple as a temporary power outage. Amazing how complacent technology has made me. I should buy some candles now :D

This is probably the part that you are missing.
Yes I do crochet. I don't know if I would call it my medium but it is a medium that I can use. I'm more of a renaissance man. I tend to jump around on hobbies to study about and use a lot of different mediums. Most with decent to great results.:)

search this thread for "crochet" and you'll find his battery covers.

Buy those big based candles that can sit on an empty table and burn for a long time. I had a nice little flashlight before but after Sandy, I bought 2 mini flashlights that work on either an AA battery or a 14500. You wouldn't believe how bright they are with a 14500 and, I figure, no matter what the emergency, I always have some of those around.

COMPUTER HELP FOR MY DAD, PLEASE
Every time he tries to print, the HP Solutions Center pops up and tells him "Printer Offline." I've rebooted the computer and the printer. The printer is plugged in (and knows the correct date and time.) I've checked the plug that goes from the back of the printer to a USB port on the computer -- plugged in on both sides. I've checked that it's trying to print to the correct computer (Officejet 4500) because he's only had this one for about a year.

What else can I look for?

Thanks

Usually turning the printer off and then back on works for me when it says offline. Since it isn't though you could try taking the device off in the settings menu and then adding the device again. This should reinitialize or reinstall the driver. Hope that helps.

Thanks. As turning off/on usually works for you, I decided to turn everything off one more time.

Then I climbed through the obstacle course and, rather than reaching over and checking that the plugs seemed to be in securely, I picked up the printer and turned it around so that I could see them. The network plug was in the phone slot. (In his defense, they are very similar in size.)

It's working now.

I also have his digital subscription to the NY Times working. He kept getting locked out after 10 pages (which happens to non-subscribers.) So he'd call and get a new password. I heard about it after about the 10th call to them. I assumed he wasn't changing the temporary password. Nope. His e-mail address in his log-in was typed as @gmail,com. (And, because of his eyesight, he had the screen zoomed in so far that it wasn't visible when looking at the page.)
