Had a chance to snag 3 black kittens from the vet when I took Bunky in to get put down.

Probably would've been tons of fun and would also prolly drive my other cat crazy. But the thought of feeding and cleaning up after 4 cats quickly dashed those fun ideas. Heck I don't even like doing the catbox with 1 or 2 cats, so 4 cats would be like fughetaboutit. Most I've ever had at once was 3, but that was with a roommate who did it most of the time.

Paying for it all's no picnic either. Sometimes I think I spent more on the cats than myself at the grocery store. More than 2 at this point and I'd prolly just switch them all over to dry food to save hassle and cost. Don't even wanna think about vet costs.

And I just had to post this (found on FB this morning).

579565_10201086835961589_87247152_n.jpg

My husband and i were dressed and ready to go out for a lovely evening of dinner and theatre. Having been burgled in the past, we turned on a 'night light' and the answering machine, then put the cat in the backyard. When our cab arrived, we walked out our front door and our rather tubby cat scooted between our legs inside, then ran up the stairs. Because our cat likes to chase our budgie we really didn't want to leave them unchaperoned so my husband ran inside to retrieve her and put her in the back yard again.

Because i didn't want the taxi driver to know our house was going to be empty all evening, i explained to him that my husband would be out momentarily as he was just bidding goodnight to my mother. A few minutes later he got into the cab all hot and bothered, and said (to my growing horror and amusement) as the cab pulled away.

"Sorry it took so long but the stupid ..... was hiding under the bed and i had to poke her .... with a coat hanger to get her to come out! She tried to take off so i grabbed her by the neck and wrapped her in a blanket so she wouldn't scratch me like she did last time. But it worked! I hauled her fat .... down the stairs and threw her into the backyard....she had better not .... in the vegetable garden again."

The silence in the taxi was deafening.....

deej glad to hear things are getting back to normal.

Some say it's boring so I must really like boring!!

I dunno about Deej, but I'm a person of routine. I hate any disruptions or variances of my routine. And after any disruptions that are beyond my control, getting back to "boring" is a most welcome situation.

I'm not usually one to succumb to stress at all of any kind. But when they were remodeling my kitchen and I was living out of my living room for 2 weeks, I was a complete mess. Especially since the workers didn't have a routine themselves. They'd show up when they felt like it, sometimes early sometimes late. Then I was never sure when I'd be able to get them to leave.

It drove me up the wall!
