okay... sounds like subscriptions are a non-starter at deejStuff.

Thank you all VERY much!!!

I didn't fully commit either way, and there may be others who would find it convenient from outside our usual clowder.

Don't usually commit to anything either way without some details. For example, if said subscription involved a good amount of savings, I'm sure I and some others could / would adjust to take advantage of those savings. Not sure what the "savings threshold" would be, but I'm sure it would differ somewhat from person to person.

Just playing the devil's advocate a little I guess. I hate seeing things get shot down so quickly, wasn't really a whole lot of brain storming or attempting to "sell it" involved.

There could be all kinds of little twists and enticements involved. Birthday month = free standing order (up to a possible $ limit?)? Holiday samples?

I could go on but gotta goto work, I'll keep the thinkin cap on.

Definitely do keep that cap on!

One of the aspects of it that I like is the known income-stream... :)

True, it wouldn't be as great as the Random Order thingy... but still...

Could possibly have the user customize "their calendar" and have it rotate quarterly, sort of like a mini-sub. Where you can pick like 3 flavors and have an Xml bottle sent each month. Like say:

Jan = NY CC
Feb = Tiramisu
Mar = CCC

Then have it start over and rotate throughout the year. I'm sure many of us have at least 2-3 "staples" they wouldn't mind getting a 30ml bottle of every so often.

Or maybe even have a grace period for people to modify / add to their sub shipment each month at regular or current sale (if any) prices. It would be like "Let's see, I've got my 30ml of Tiramisu being sent out on the 20th. I'm gonna add a bottle of CCC @ 30ml and that new flavor he just came up with 'X factor Y' @ 15ml.

Maybe even allow them to substitute the main flavor as long as the bottle size is the same.

Or could remove subscription modifications / additions from eligibilty for sale prices but instead have the entire subscription order (modified or not) available at a set "subcription rate". Which would require any sale priced orders to be made separate from Sub orders.

Then if there's a big sale they can get what they want as normal. But if there's no sale they could still get their sub plus any additions at a smaller discount.

Or just keep the subs at sub prices and additions at regular, they'd still save a little on shipping.

Possibilites are endless. But as long as people like to "frugalize" they'll find a way to take advantage of all the options. :laugh:

Good morning, CES!

yeah, the subscription would have to be pretty well locked-in.

My original thought on it was something on the order of if you knew you wanted a 30ml bottle of Tiramisu (or whatever) sent to you every month for the next 6 months, I'd high-speed the 6 bottles. I'd send out 1 now, and another one each month for the next 5 months.

It'd be sort of like how the Premixed dealy worked, except I'd have a known demand.

That's what happens when you turn me loose in creative mode. 1001 variations on a theme. :laugh:

I can come up with ideas all day. As long as I'm not the one who has to implement or track them. I'd be a little more conservative in the flexibility if I was. :D

Figured if I covered a broad spectrum to the point of extreme, ya might be able to gleen out a few useful bits from the middle somewhere.

I like it because it gives me paths to explore (mentally) and try to envision the workload (or lack thereof). Even if an idea isn't used, that doesn't mean it went to waste!

That's just a polite way of saying "If you throw enough crap at the wall, some of it just might stick.". :laugh:

At least that was my approach. ;)

But yeah, the idea is to just get peeps thinking in ways or areas they may not have considered before. Heck if one iota plants a little seed that becomes a variation of a variation that becomes the final product, then it did it's job.

Oh and... Working all night I DAMN THEE!!! :evil:

That's what I do. Deej says he's thinking about something and I go "how about this, that or the other."

Only problem is that he tends to get apologetic if he doesn't use them while I have zero emotional attachment to any of them.

Howdy clowderianites.

Hey Poe, you were saying how much you liked the VV grippers, and I agree. Have you seen the new box mod coming soon from Innoken?

It's sort of like the MVP but with all of the minor gripes addressed. But it's also got a different feed system. The pictures show it with an Innoken iClear. I've never tried them, but wouldn't want to be locked into that system.

If it can use standard DC Tanks, I'm gonna be all over it when it comes out. Just waiting now for more info to see what all types of carto / clearo option we'll have.

Looks pretty slick, and well built like the MVP. But more compact even with a tank feeder.

I have an MVP. Right shape and it vapes very, very well but it is HEAVY. (I just pulled out my kitchen scale. With no atomizer/tank/etc. the MVP weighs 5.1 oz. With a Panasonic 18650 flat top the Gripper weighs 2.8 oz.)

If, by replacing the built-in battery with an 18650, they bring the weight down a lot, I'd consider it. But, by the time I run out of Grippers (I still have 4 in their boxes), there will probably be another big innovation that makes it obsolete.
