Potentially messy. And, if you drink your coffee hot, potentially messy = potentially painful.

I drink ice coffee and I use a beer stein. Good combination.

That's basically what I do.

I brew just enough for my one huge cup, then transfer it over for ease of handling.

(and to keep it warm of course)
