Ya it's hard to compare those two, however, I was smoking 2 packs of Marlboro Reds a day. When I started vaping (stopped analogs the day I picked up a vape) I was using 18mg liquids. After two weeks I went down to 6mg. I've been there for four months and I'm thinking about dropping to none soon. I feel less addicted, but I vape all day cause I LOVE clouds. Big smoke plumes where why I loved smoking analogs. Now I get to blow GIANT vape clouds.

I think I've got more nic in my system from vaping than I did from smoking. It distracts me from craving a cig. When I've put some more distance between me and cigarettes I'll look at reducing the nic by trying a lower nic juice. I suspect nicotine, by itself is not as addictive as most people assume. Nic gum and patches are available OTC with no perscription. You can overload on nic with the patches too.

Get juice with 3mg nicotine and vape it for about a day or two. If you going through juice faster, then you are addicted to nicotine. Stay on 3mg, after a week your cravings will drop, and after another week you can go to 0mg. With 0mg, it will take about 2 more weeks for cravings to stop..YMMV

So go online and buy a lot of cheap juice, because with 0mg you will be burning through juice a lot faster. White Lable Co has 100ml for $20.

If I vape anything below 12mg I crave for analog like crazy so no way I could vape 3mg.

I have one more question, am I the only one here whose nicotine intake increased when switched to vaping? It could be like Topwater Elvis posted, that nicotine absorption rate of vapor versus inhaling smoke from analogs can't compare.

after about my first week of vaping on 18mg nic I messed up and smoked. when I had that .... I felt so dizzy, sick and not to mention mad at myself. Its hard to say why I was dizzy and not feeling well, I assumed it was more nic that I was getting with the analog. I suppose it could have been any one of the thousands of chemicals as well though. So just from that experience I would say 18mg isn't as strong as the nic I was getting from my 30 smokes per day, but that is not scientific lol.

What did the analog taste like? After 3 weeks of vaping I lit up an analog (I was out of coils) and it tasted so bad I ran to the vaping store and got some coils for my Kanger. I just hit 3 months and my roommate smokes (much to my dismay) and the smell is God awful. I just don't see picking up analogs again. I did bail on the Kanger and now use a Nautilus Mini and iStick.

The thing to remember here is that you are not smoking cigs.
Remember when you had a nic fit and you would spark up a smoke, take 1-3 drags and that edgy feeling would subside almost instantly?
Personally I have found that to get that same subsidized feeling I have to vape for about 10-15 minutes.
Sooner than later this feeling gets less intense, then you will be able to drop off your nic level.
Or maybe you'll have what happened to me and go try to buy your favourite juice and all they have is a strength lower than what you want and just go for it.
I'm finding that lower strength actually tastes better.

I smoked about a pack a day of menthol full strength cigarettes from 1978 until yesterday, and right now I am very much not worried about nicotine addiction... for me, I have to break up the habit and the psychological addiction before dealing with just nicotine. Down the road, it'll be time to deal with the nicotine; I've even had doctors tell me they'd be fine with me being on nicotine indefinitely as long as it was not by smoking. I'm totally new to e-cigs, no idea if they can deepen your nicotine addiction or not, but it's the smokes you're not smoking that would kill you.

I did a little research and this explains everything:

srep04133-f4.jpg

"Nicotine levels after smoking a tobacco cigarette in 5 minutes (18.8 ng/ml) are 185% and 286% higher compared to using the first and new-generation electronic cigarette device respectively. Additionally, plasma nicotine levels after smoking one tobacco cigarette are almost equal to the values after using the new-generation device for 35 minutes (18.52 ng/ml), while they are 73% higher compared to the values after using the first-generation device for 35 minutes (10.88 ng/ml)."

I tried to post earlier, but the forum was not responding in the UK.

This was my post (more or less).

20 cigarettes of 0.9mg nicotine can CONTAIN ten times as much nicotine as the published "yield" by the manufacturer.

That one packet could have 180mg in before you smoke it.

Your 3ml of 18mg has 54mg in it before you vape it.

180mg vs. 54mg? No contest. :)

Be Happy.

Nicotine is not the devil, in fact it can be very nice :) People just won't let the "tar and nicotine" association go.

I get this and that from all the nay sayers that say things like "well your still doing nicotine" in some feeble pathetic ignorant attempt to diminish the importance of my no longer smoking. When I tell them how easy it was compared to other methods they really get going :) and when I say I have no intention of stopping vaping or cutting back on nic they actually seem upset.

Who wants to see somebody get their cake and eat it too, :D
