My ankles aren't my best naked feature I don't think now I think about it. My maiden name (modified for spelling but not ever ENOUGH) means thick necked proud Russian warrior.

So my neck is proud but not thick, thank God. However, I have ankles so sturdy they barely like, well they are THICK.

My shoulders are pleasant but my dear I am not standing naked in my bathroom taking selfies and like apparently the cops say it is FINE to walk around nude in the house. So I will just do it when the husband isn't looking.

The OTHER feature we ALL share which SUCKS so much are spider bug hairs up our shins. We ALL have it. It's not regressive My KID has it. It looks better on a guy. I did shave recently but you still aren't getting ANKLES even.

Anna.
I would not expect you to post a pic on this forum. But, could you PM me one, so I can die happy?

Anyone else notice how stressed folks look when out and about...folks need to chill the heck out, it ain't the end of the world, just a lil' disease going round...we will get through this. It's not the first time we dealt with something like this.

Shut off your damn TV or computer and go outside for a walk or bike ride or something...it's gonna be OK in the end.
It's really sad.
I ride the rail trails (around Northampton MA which are great) and there are a fair number of walkers, and most have masks on. that's ok, though I won't wear one. But, they won't even look at me, as if my eyesight will transmit it.
Then there are some cyclists, who normally would not have done much interaction because they're riding, who have pulled over for a break who start conversations as I ride along. Clearly yearning for human interaction.
And the super market. Some of the staff are clearly shaking in their boots. You can see the terror if they have to interact, even 6' away with me. Then, I saw a couple stocking the shelves with pasta. All of which was elbows, LOL. I made a comment about that as I walked by, and they were overjoyed that someone actually talked to them.
And the cooperative market. I went in, and the manager approached me welcomed me (not too close) and told me how much he appreciated my being there, with either teary eyes or a cold. And I told him how much I appreciated his being there.
There's something very wrong going on here, and it is not corona.
I grant you that it may kill me, though I think the probability is low.
But, something's not right with the picture.

Wherever you are, look up the number of cases. Then look up the population. Then look at the past three years of influenza stats.

I did this with several states, and it ain't adding up. Here in NC the infection rate ( tested positive) is .0003% of the population yesterday??? for this we destroy our economy and way of life??? There is something very foul about this whole affair...

@newyork13 , I'm also not masking, and try to be friendly with folks in stores. They do look scared, but the customers seem more so. This is not a healthy situation, socially. People seem to be really on edge, even riding around my neighborhood this evening there was a family walking with two kids...then it was just the mom walking along with her daughter on a bike...she looked really angry, or maybe stressed. None of this stuff makes any sense to me, I just am trying to go on as nothing is changed, but the anxiety is contagious.

But, it's more than that, not to disagree with your numbers.
It has been talked about (but only like at the very end of any article if you read the mainstream media) that uncounted numbers of people have or have had corona but they never noticed because they were asymptomatic or because their symptoms were trivial. So, the cases you enumerated above are significantly understated, so the % of the population infected is significantly overstated.
I'll never trivialize death. People have died, and I'm sorry for them.
But, the stats from Italy are clear. 99%+ of the deaths are of folks with one or more underlying medical conditions.

I just keep thinking that the "preventative measures" are going to harm way more folks than if we had life as normal going on...how many people are going to wind up jobless and homeless as a result, what will be the unintended consequences from that, what will be the negative health effects from millions of people being unemployed and possibly homeless as a result of shuttering all trade?

I absolutely share your concerns, Which, in my case amount to fears. People out of work, hyperinflation, bankruptcies, businesses lost. All that is somewhat of an unknown. What will be the results of the virus running loose? The percentages you illustrated elsewhere look negligible, but not when we consider how gosh darn fast it is spreading. Even if the curves flatten out, that might only mean the rate of increase is not increasing as fast as it was.

In other words, I am scared and don't really know what I'm scared of.

Releaser of the KRAKEN
Krump know about this in Dec of last year and did nothing to prepare us.
POTUS did absolutely nothing .
Welcome to the real world folks.
Reality is not all Lollipops and Rainbows. (which we knew, but had hope that we were wrong. )
If you look closely at the masses during this ordeal, hoarding, price gouging, taking advantage... true selves are finally exposed for everyone to see. Vanity, Anger, Bigotry ... with no place to hide. Fear is true freedom with a reality check.

If we can learn anything from this tragedy, I hope it will help us to become better human beings.

When the Carona curve and the economic curve both flatten out which will have proven the more destructive?

I agree, there is a great deal of free-floating anxiety out there. I do know my one fear and it is a fear of our "experts". I do not trust our experts. When the Carona curve and the economic curve both flatten which will have been the most devastating?

I think everyone is scared, for a lot of different reasons.

When we finally look at the statistics of this corona versus the other annual flu, I predict they will not be very different. Make a note of that and shoot me in a couple of months if I'm wrong. (NYC aside, unfortunately.)
We've gotten whipped up into a panic, sadly.
But, the effects of shutting down everything is less predictable for me.
Might be a quick rebound. Or, might be one for history about a disastrous public health and policy error.
