I have been eating TONS of food the past couple of months. I am trying to lose weight, and it is not going very well so far. I know that dehydration can make you hungrier, and as I have been bad about drinking water I suspect that to be the main culprit.

My point is, I have heard that PG can sometimes cause this. My throat still gets sore here and there vaping, and I tend to wake up with an icky taste in my mouth (which I have to eat to rid myself of - liquids will not kill it). Would switching to a reduced PG formula help this? Is there any notable difference in flavor, etc?

I am about due to order juice again, and I was just wondering if I should pick up the reduced formula this time. Thanks in advance for your help. :)

Try VG. PG gives me all sorts of issues. Also try milk or water. You would be surprised to find out it works great with drowning out or eliminating bad flavors in your mouth. Best of luck! :D

I'm not sure if PG causes dehydration in the body (electrolyte inbalance) but I have heard it can dry the skin some. One of the reasons they use PG in all sorts of things is it retains moisture, keeps things from drying out. That's the reasons they use it in pet foods, cosmetic and baby wipes.
If you think this has caused your dehydration then switch to VG.

Many times people mistake hunger for thrist. But if you eat you will feel hunger again in about one hour. Your body really just need water.

Sore throat can be caused from how much you vape and the strength of the nicotine. At first vaping 36 at times caused my throat to be sore but I vape constantly. I don't believe this is caused from the PG. You may just want to consider using VP and see if this helps with your symptoms.

Keep in mind that PG and VG are both humectants ( = have an affinity to forming hydrogen bonds with water, absorbing water from the air). They're both found in cosmetics/lotions or foods for that purpose, to reduce moisture loss. They will have the same action in terms of dehydration.

That said, you might find your other issues -- like sore throat and icky taste -- lessened by VG. Can't tell til you try it and see.

There's some loss of throat hit, and at high VG some loss of flavor, but the increased vapor is nice. I vape 10-30% VG (used to be 50/50 until I started using cartomizers more, and the thicker juice doesn't seem to wick fast enough in those).

I find carbonated seltzer (the ones with a hint of flavor are nice) helps clear the palate. An apple does a nice job too. You don't need to get all of your fluid intake through drinking water or other beverages; high-water foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, protein shakes, or brothy soups help too. I hate plain water, so those are my strategies :)

I figure water helps the body anyway.
Yeah I go by the same logic so I just drink a crap load of water all the time. When I have a cup of water I'll follow it by 2 more cups, every time. Either way, I don't think water has ever killed anybody, so all it can do is help.

Please no wisecracks about people drowning in water and crap like that. Its just a statement not a fact.

Well..........drinking too much water DOES, in fact, kill.

Hmm, I will stick with my usual PG formula then.

I suppose, I've honestly just been eating a normal level of food for winter after having starved myself for a couple of months. Plus, I've been eating some less healthy stuff (pizza) a lot lately. I haven't gained weight, per say, because I am always gaining and losing the same 5lbs, but I do want to lose weight. I just need to discipline myself on the water intake, me thinks.

Thank you all again for the information.
