Hope that link works. Our News Urinal blocks access after so many articles unless you pay for a subscription. I hate that lousy liberal rag so I won't pay.

Anyways, House lawmakers passed legislation banning sales to minors. Not lumping them in with smokers and having to stay so many feet from a door yada yada.. Just sales to minors. Hopefully this isn't a step towards banning all together.

Curious, this line from the article:

Does that seem high to anyone else?
It's just a number using their definition, whatever that may be. If they use the word "tried" as equal to "used" then that makes a major difference. How many things have you "tried" something and never did it again? If a student "tried" a cigarette but did not start smoking by their definition they would be a "smoker". Follow my reasoning? Need to ask them about how they are defining things to get the truth!!

Exactly! What questions were they asking? Were they asking the exact same in the previous survey? Was the amount of students polled the same? These are the details that they conveniently leave out to make their poll get the number they want.

Politics aside :glare: there are two ways to get around that, assuming you can read the "front page" and headlines.

The first way is to click the story, then hit the X/Stop button as soon as the page starts to load. You'll probably have to practice your timing. Some are trickier than others.

If that doesn't work so well, the other way is to delete all cookies associated with the site. I can do that easily with Firefox. I'm not sure how to do it with IE or any others. Perhaps if you use InPrivate Browsing in IE?

There may be other ways; those are the two I know of. Give 'em a try! ;)

Before starting a new thread for a bill, please do a search to see if a thread has already been created for the billl, as was the case with this legislation (HB 241) at
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...bill-hb-241-would-ban-e-cig-sales-minors.html

HB 241 is at
www.legis.delaware.gov - Official web site of First State Legislature
http://www.legis.delaware.gov/LIS/lis147.nsf/vwLegislation/HB+241/$file/legis.html?open

This bill would define e-cigs as "tobacco substitutes" (but the definition wouldn't include e-liquid, dissolvables, skin cream or other new "tobacco substitutes").

(11) “Tobacco substitute” means any device employing a mechanical heating element, battery, or circuit, regardless of shape or size, that can be used to deliver nicotine into the body through inhalation and that has not been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for tobacco cessation or other medical purposes, or any noncombustible product containing nicotine intended for use in such a device that has not been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for tobacco cessation or other medical purposes.

The definitions of "vapor products" and "alternative nicotine products" in other bills are far more comprehensive than this definition.

Other problems with the bill are several false and misleading fear mongering claims about e-cigs in the "Whereas" findings (that should be eliminated from the bill).

Since current Delaware law prohibits all self serve displays of all tobacco products (i.e. no exemption for tobacco specialty stores), this bill also would ban all self service displays of all "tobacco substitutes".

It's funny you say that, I've never been a beer drinker as I might have one or two a year. However I've found that beer can be quite enjoyable for me if I'm vaping. I was getting my garage cleaned out and the cycles set up for riding and took one for a little jaunt today close to noon. After the ride, I just felt the need to stop and have a vape and a beer. I'm sure one of those e-hookahs would be excellent with a brew. Those kids are so smart.

With all the issues Delaware has to deal with, you'd think they would focus on something more productive. Unfortunately, after living here all my life, I've learned that most politicians are more focused on re-election and/or feel-good legislation than confronting the real problems facing the citizens. :(.

It's a beautiful lie. Since high school lasts for four years, at least three quarters of your sample will be in the data pool from year to year. A freshman who answers 'yes' to a question about having tried an ecig still counts as a yes when he's a Sophomore. If his buddy tries an ecig for the first time as a sophomore, then abracadabra! The number doubles, even though the proportion of triers -- the rate of trying -- didn't (necessarily) change.

Of course, you'd expect e-cig experimentation to rise legitimately too, given that ecigs are a fairly new thing. In fact, it would be bad for us if ecig use weren't rising among both adults and (legal) children.

In my previous post on this thread, I incorrectly wrote

In fact, the definition for "tobacco substitute" in HB 241 also would apply to e-liquid (but not to dissolvables, skin cream or other new "tobacco substitutes").
