You need to shim it. Place a small twist of paper or such into the Delrin button hole before replacing the button. Then it won't slide down so far that it fails to allow the fire button to make contact.

Edit: Ooops, my bad. Slight reading deficiency on my part. Glad the big boys were there to steer you right.:)

Used to happen to me. I remove the delrin cover, rotate the firing pin so it sticking straight out the mod, then bend it up so it then puts more tension on the delrin button when it is put back into place. I do this with an atty installed cause the firing pin gets pushed down a bit when an atty is installed relieving some of the tension.

The truth is your actually turning it or rolling it with your finger . Of course you can remove the lock people do it all the time .

^This is what I did....easy enough to do. Remove the switch, grab the pin with some channel locks twist it out. With the way it sits in my pocket with only my cell phone nothing ever fires it on accident. If it ever becomes an issue I can put the pin back in then.....so far never has been.

having same issue as well am considering lock removal...how do you remove the switch vapeaddict?

I've done it to a couple of mine....you take the Delrin cap off (if you're using one) and you can see a tiny little metal thing that catches on a lip when it's turned all the way to the right. Turn your firing pin to the "on" position, take the tip of a tweezer or a knife (something that will fit down in there) and push the little pin all the way into the delrin button. It'll permanently disable the off switch, so only do it if that is your intention. Once it's in, it's in. Make it flush with the firing pin so that it won't catch on the channel when you turn it.

You could take the REO apart, pull out the firing pin, pull out the little catch/lock pin, then reassemble.....but that's not necessary. And I wouldn't take a REO apart unless I really needed to.

Hello All, I am the proud owner of a new Reo Mini 2.1 and RM2, unfortunately I am waiting on 18490 batteries. Instead, just to play with it a little, I am using an 18350 battery with a spacer, probably not safe but I only did it a few times. Anyway, this button is killing me, it really hurts my thumb. I had a Reo Mini back in the day and I don't remember the button hurting this bad. Is the delrin button cover what I'm looking for? I can't find it anywhere on Rob's site. Any help would be appreciated.

The button should not hurt your thumb. Sounds like you are pushing down way to hard. Do you have a 14500 battery? They will work. You might need to shim it on the side to hold it in place.

Push the button while holding the atty by your ear. When it fires you will know that is as far as you need to push down.

The button covers are very nice, I use them. http://www.reosmods.com/index.php?p...&category_id=3&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=9

If the button is hurting you your pushing way too hard. I know it's been said already but the message has to get thru  if your battery has a button top be sure the batt is on top of the spacer either way it would be safe to use that way as the body of the Reo is the negative ground. Don't put your spacer if it's a metal one on the top of the batt.
