anybody else experienced this ?
3 of my 26650s MNKE are dented from my Seven 22 and Hades mods

Where are they dented and how deep are the dents?

Pics are good to, like my Sony VTC3 after being dropped in a K100:

The dent in the negative end of my Sony was caused by me dropping it in a K100 onto the switch button. The button hit the battery hard enough to do that with the weight of the mod and AGA-T behind it. Depth is 0.008". After thinking it over I continued to use it and have not had any issues.

These batteries are made by stuffing the negative shell and then capping the positive end. I don't know what is directly inside the positive cap. That is the end that has the out-gassing system in it which if it fails will turn the battery into a pipe bomb if it vents from a short. It is also the end that is sealed so no moisture can get in which is important.

That's all I've got.

Any idea why it's happening RAMBOKNIFE?

I have a pair of Panasonic PD battery's that have the same kind of dent on the positive post. I am not sure what did it, but I suspect that it was the spring in my vamo pushing it against the small post that contacts the positive end of the battery. They have been that way for about 8-9 months now and have worked flawless in that time so I stopped worrying about it.

I had that happen when I was using a lavatube. I used a corkscrew to push the dent out (kinda-sorta) from the inside.

It's caused by dropping your mod or having it roll off a table, that sort of thing. The battery compresses the spring when it lands, then the spring presses it back, for instance, assuming it lands right side up. Or if it lands upside down, the battery itself is trying to force itself and the pin is there. Either way gives you this result.

I didn't worry about it much - but I do prefer button top batteries. I'm using a provari now, with AW and Efest button tops, and I no longer have the problem.
