So, I'm in the Army, and will be deploying for about 9 months, starting in April. I wanted to put a list up of things that I've ordered, to see what you guys think, or could recommend in addition to what I've ordered.

- GLV 2, 5v
- juice : 280mL, various flavors.
- 2 full tanks, with 8 replacement cartos
- 4 spare batteries
- 4 regular cartos

Anything else you guys can think that I'd need? I know that may not last me an entire 9 months, but I'm sure it's enough to get me started unless some major catastrophe befalls everything I've ordered.

Well, to be honest, this is mostly to get me started.. I think that I should be good for 6 of the 9 months, at least. The only thing I can see me needing to order is carto's, and that I'm already aware of. I want to see how fast I burn through the tank cartos because that's what I plan on primarily using.

Well, the Cartos tend to last me a solid two weeks, so 20 of them should be fine.. I've got plenty of juice, I think, 280 mL, I go through 6ml~ a week.. Got 8 batteries coming, and even some more juice.. We'll see what happens. Guess I'll just have to pay close attention to my stock and make sure I ordered way in advance.

just make sure you order priority mail while you are "over there". I dunno if the glv has a drip well, but if it does get something to cover up the drip well, the rubber plunger end of a 5 ml syringe (the thin ones) worked well for me to keep the dust and other crap out of it.

You may want to find out if there is anywhere you can refrigerate the juices, it gets HOT in certain areas of the stan.

Id also invest in a couple attys and dripshield just in case your cartos crap out on you faster than you have planned. At least you will be able to drip while you are waiting and just use the cartos while out on patrol (if you will be patrolling).

Good luck and like my father always says to me, "keep your head down!"

While you are flying, Id wait until you get up to altitude before you fill your tank, if not you will have a juicy glv...

Iv never had to deploy, but I would have some Qtips to clean out your connection , and 100 + ml of juice, a fist full of attys , bunch of cartos for when you cant drip ..1 for every day i was gone, 3 sets of batteries , a small tooth pick or something to remove the rubber stopper in the cartos, an hex key to adjust your connection if needed, and a super mini as back up. I think that would be enough to get you there and back home .

Haven't been on here in a while, but thanks everyone for the tips, and support. I've got pleeenty of juice, I think I may have enough to last me past my deployment, maybe even after. (350ml total should last a while.) Batteries, I ordered a bunch. I got 6, and I can back up with non-rechargeable SureFire batteries if necessary. As for Atomizers, I think once I get there I might order some.. I have a 5 or 6s Carto's that I could use, and a single Atomizer that I hate. I think once I get over there, I might put in another order for a few more Cartos/Atomizers.. Should be alright, and able to avoid those nasty Afghan analogs.
