Has anyone tried the RM8, wondering how well constructed the atty is made, when compared to an authentic Derringer. Saving 50% would be great but only if...

buy the clone.. I've found it on part if not better. Besides.. the latest version uses a 2 piece center post which is a pitta to make drain properly.
I just ordered one today and am so excited to get it! I want to shout, hey I'm getting a new atty!!!!!

Congrats! There real easy to build on and I'm sure you'll find that out right away! Just keep the coils close to the air holes and you'll say wow!
May I advise.. if you like a nice full warm vape try dual coil 30 gage wire 7 wraps on a 2.5mm pole on a coil master using kgd using 1 air hole centered over ea coil with the coil slightly above the hole. The key is to get the wick just right. Not too much and not too little. When you get it just right you'll know! coils will darken up in just a couple of hits as there being fed just right.
Edit: hehe.. forgot the ohms. The coils are 2ohms ea= 1ohm or just below.
I need to try this for a few reasons! 1 - I am getting lazy on building......2 - I love a warm vape.......3 - I've only used one setting on my coil master!!!! I need to experiment! I like my builds dual coil around .50...don't think I have 30 gauge but I might! Thanks for the tips!

I bet it will be close with 28 gauge wire 1ohm ea for .5ohms. Though I'm sure the warm up with be a hair slower with the thicker wire but will seem fine for chain vaping.
Mine should be here today, so excited! I've not bought anything new in a long while

Can anyone tell me what the Derringer with a single coil at .9-1.2 would vape?
No idea.. never seen anyone try a single coil on one to know. Try it and let us know.. just make sure to have the air holes a lined for just single coil.
You can do it, of course, but the derri would really shine with two of those same coils. It's a little steam factory.
With a single mono-strand coil, you'll prolly find it a tad airy and the flavour would be good, but not appreciably better than the RM2.
Options would be: use a fatter wire and have the resistance in and around .5 ohms with a single coil, go the dual coil setup, try a twisted or parallel single coil (again, netting around .5 ohms). The vape will pick up noticeably and the derri's afc will let you dial in an amount that will keep up.
Would it use more juice in any of those configs? Prolly a little, but then you've got that big tub of cheap juice to play with
OK all you Derringer people! I got mine from Rob's website yesterday! It is so airy! I have the holes shut down to one and it's still too airy! I may have made a mistake........I like the tight hits. sigh

Did you attempt half a one hole?? There's also just enough room to add your own hole at the end of the set of 3. Thought of drilling a small hole myself but never got to it.
I've noticed that the clone has slightly smaller holes then the authentic.
Also make sure you also have your coil as close as possable to the air hole.. always want it close to the hole on any atty but that will also tighten up the draw.

You can also switch around the AFC ring inside so that only one set of holes is exposed to the outside.
I used a Derringer clone prior to going reo. It is fantastic. The rm8 is of better quality than my other clone and vapes just as great.
I tried single coil in the range you specified but just doesn't cut it for me.
My standard build is 26awg, 2.5mm, 5 wrap dual. Comes out at 0.3. Battery is just as tired as I am by bed time.

Lol. I went through the same thing when going from cartos to protank. Then again when I got a nautilus. Felt like I was gulping vapor.
Then there's the Kay fun. Had that opened up before I knew it.
Couldn't stand the subtank mini at first and now it seems restricted.
My favorite rda prior to the Derringer was the Patriot. But it had a high speed accident. Too bad too, it really made betelgeuse pop.
My derringer is now in the classified for sale or trade.........just couldn't do the airy stuff. Give me an RM3 lol

Hmm, I want one. Someone sent me a Tobecco clone of the Derringer, and I love it. I would love one on a Reo!
