Just finished bottom-feeding my derringer clone. Not sure how I feel about it yet vape wise. Love the looks, though my I-go s is just as short without any over-hang...Will report back after a week or so...
Will do a little later proper with pics. Working now.Eddie, please explain the process you went through to bottom feed your derringer. I have a derringer clone coming in that will need it. Thanks

It's simple. One major problem is the positive post is one piece.. so you will more than likely get post spinning once you push out the post, you could make a tighter insulator if your handy.Eddie, please explain the process you went through to bottom feed your derringer. Most important thing to know is the flat head slot at the bottom does nothing. The post is all ONE PIECE. Before knocking out the post I took a marker and marked the spot where I wanted to drill the deck juice holes. Then, To get the positive post out you just put the side of the deck on a piece of wood and tap from the top of the post with a light brass hammer (or rubber mallet) then once the post is out simply drill the post out with a strong 1/16 drill bit. Two juice channels and one hole straight from the bottom. My 4 derringer clones were all done this way, 2 are fasttech clones with stainless center post, and other two are actual 1:1 of the authentic but came with copper posts. The copper drills so much easier, i broke multiple bits on the stainless. (I am using a 18v drill, not a drill press, drill press would make this job so much easier) some people are worried about b/fing copper posts but I don't worry about it. Everything in life is dangerous.
So next step is putting the post back in the atty, just tap it back into place, if your bushing is junk to begin with your going to have a post spinning problem, especially since you already removed the post and made it looser.. I mocked up some tighter insulators from my junk drawer. But you will have to figure something out also.
Even authentic derringers have post spinning problems. Its because of the one piece post design. I have an authentic CH Derringer and the post even spins on that. So until praxis changes their design and makes a two piece post that you can torque down, were going to have spinning posts. And the clone companies won't change the post design until praxis does!
One of my derringers has a two piece post in it, it's taken from a CH rogue atty. I ditched the one piece post and managed to get the rogue post to work in it. Its awesome, no spinning and I can torque it down.
Sorry for the novel I just wrote... trying to help out, it's hard typing this much on a cell phone.

Yeah I forgot to add that you can keep it all together. But personally I prefer a drain hole that's perfectly level to the deck. But you definitely can prevent further post spinning but not removing the post at all.You really don't have to remove the post whether you're like me and prefer a raised feed hole or if you prefer it to drain. That was my first thought as I started to remove the center post was that it would loosen everything up....so I just did it with it in place...
Praxis just needs to change their design, preferably to a normal 2 piece post design.. I hate that I bought a $85 dollar atty and the damn things spins?! And not putting any blame on Tom he did a great job, but Praxis sucks because they made a one piece pressed in post...I just got my V1 back from Tom that had spinning post syndrome. The funny thing is it spun when I was taking the build out of it! That was a first for me. Never had one spin, loosening a screw. I will say it was the first time I had really taken a good hard look at the insulator since I had originally received it. Was under the impression all the V1's were to have peek insulators in them, but somewhere along the line they were changed to delrin!!! With as often as I dry burn my coils and running them in the .25Ω neighborhood, that may have been why it failed. We'll see how long this one holds up. My guess is it won't be very long...
