Forgot to mention. Steady hands

Derringer is easier because you can use the screw hole as a guide from the top. Just remove the grub screws or Phillips head screws from the center post and wrap the base in the paper towel to prevent scratches gripping the edges with your adjustable pliers.

Place the#60 bit in the Dremel. Be sure to tighten beyond hand tightening so the bit doesn't travel. Find a comfortable position, turn the Dremel on its LOWEST speed and start.

Let the bit do it's job. With SS you do have to apply more pressure which is why bits break more often.

praxis just needs to change their design, preferably to a normal 2 piece post design.. I hate that I bought a $85 dollar atty and the damn things spins?! And not putting any blame on Tom he did a great job, but praxis sucks because they made a one piece pressed in post...

Mine spins slightly and I just don't feel like shipping it back to Tom, do you know exactly what he did to fix it??

-Mark

It looks like he put a new insulator in there. Regardless of what praxis did, Tom put in a new post and insulator that he made for it and it shouldn't spin. That was why I sent it back to him. He did ship me the original post and screws for it when I first got it. He didn't however, send the original insulator with it though.

Once through you'll need to make a feed hole in the upper side of the center post. Because it's round you'll want to start the hole by hand until the bit stays centered. Tedious and annoying. Bit slides every which way but, keep going back to the spot until it catches.

Once it catches the "pilot hole" by hand you can use the Dremel to drill through using the pliers and paper towel to hold again.

I again prefer a raised feed hole because I drip other flavors and don't want the bottle corrupted. I use SS mesh. If you want a feed hole at the base just start your pilot hole there at an angle.

If you have a drill press I suggest using the pliers paper towel to hold and a atomizer stand for stability.

Though I'm not sure how you'd do the feed hole on a drill press without removing the center post.

Any questions ask away...

Do you have any old cheap attys? Try pulling the insulator from one of them and see if it's snug...Just throwing that out there. Sure you thought of it. Feel like the insulator from one of my squids would fit.

Yeah I said a couple posts above that one of my derringers has a 2 piece post and insulator from a rogue atty. Works like a charm!

Russ I am looking forward to your reviews. I am interested in learning more about this Freakshow device also. It is hard to believe you have set the beloved Odins aside. Well at least I have the coin set aside and will be able to acquire the Derringer, Freakshow, or why not both. On that note I am going to need another REO. Can't be swapping out attys all the time. To much work screwing and unscrewing. Oh the first world problems I am having!

I bought a Derringer clone from Angelcigs (Derringer Styled RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer Silver) that had a brass screw in the bottom of the center pin. Once it was removed the center pin was hollow. Marked the feed hole location on the center pin and pressed it out, drilled the feed hole, reinserted the pin and am thoroughly impressed.

Yeah, you need more LP REO grands bro :)

Personally I like the rogue the best. Then the FS mini and derringer are tied for second. But I like all three better than the Nuppin and Odin.

You have to want to cause a leak to make the rogue leak IMO, I've never had a leak on my rogues. I prefer my marquis for flavor, but it's just so tall and the airflow is somewhat restrictive compared to most attys I use. Just got my freakshow today, putting it thru it's paces now.

Like the v1 atty, dislike the lil tiny grubs and the way the polished cap gets fogged around the air slots. It's an atty that I'll have cause it's unique, made by a friend easy to build and now that I'm all about mixin it up with attys it would only be natural to have bit I prefer the vape offa 22mm attys :)

V2 does sound cool - I'm waiting to hear reports about it :)

What kind of build do you put in your marquis for great flavor? I've read through the marquis thread, but was wondering your take. Can't remember if you posted in there or not.

thanks. I haven't used nichrome, but noticed a lot of folks using 26g kanthal, may have to get some. I did do some twisted as was suggested, but kept it was about 0.9 on a single coil. Probably need to drop ohms to get more flavor from it. thanks again, and sorry OP for the slight hijack, I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread! lol

The small screws on the Nuppin kills my hands. Arthritic thumbs and carpel tunnel makes all of my builds extra special. No pain no gain!

The Freakshow looks awesome. I like the afc but will have to learn to adjust my squonking. I am a bottle masher for sure and like to see the juice in the air hole. I am looking forward to the Rogue and Derringer vids!

Russ used a pin vise to help with that tiny allen key. Dunno if he dremeled off the elbow part (previously referred to as the hangy down part) lol Or just got a 0.9 mm straight key to put in it. I have the same issue.

I use a pin vice for my Derringer grubs. And same when I had my Nuppin.. no need to dremel, just take some pliers and use the inside cutting edge and take the 90° off the Allen. Then stick er' in your pin vise. I love the ease of pin vices/ Allen's.
