I was at a 6 Flags (Lake George, NY) today. I went to the designated smoking areas to have a vape. All of them have a sort of tape on the ground for boundaries. The tape has Blu logos, as does everything else. There's a Blu sign with their "No ash, no smell" etc. lines.

Thought it was kind of funny.

Every time I went, at least 2 people asked me what I was "smoking." Not in a drugs way, but in a curiosity way. Told them and explained how my Halo Triton setup worked. I've only been at it for a little over two months, but today was the first time non-friends asked what it was.

And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let's not turn this into some stupid "Why don't you vape anywhere in the park!" thread. If you must know, it was too packed and I didn't feel like blowing vape clouds in people's faces just because I technically could. And one guy did politely ask me why I was there rather than walking around, and I told him. Everyone respectfully agreed.

Yeah, we were at Six Flags earlier this year in San Antonio and they had the same thing. I thought it was kind of funny too. I didn't want to be around the smokers so I just stayed at the edge. It wasn't busy when were there so I did vape a bit while walking around and no one said anything, but I agree with you. I tend to not just blow it around everywhere. Just out of respect for others. My flavors DO have a smell. While they are a nice smell, I don't want to subject everyone to it nor do I want to have to explain it a zillion times.

But it was kind of funny to the hubby and I too. LOL :)

Actually, I stayed outside the boundaries. I guess I'm a rebel. I was leaning against the wooden fence/whatever it's called, facing the smokers.

The first one I came across smelled pretty bad. My wife still smokes, and asked me where it was; I replied "Go up that hill and you'll smell it." She came back laughing because my directions were right on.

What really irritated me was seeing people in there with their kids. I'm mean seriously, can't someone else watch their 7 year old, or can't they have them stand a bit away from it while keeping an eye on them? If I was there alone with my kids, no way in hell would they have been in there with me. I'd have fought it and waited until we left, as miserable as I would have been.

That rant's over.

Yeah, when I say "at the edge" I was several feet away too. I figured it was close enough.

I KNOW. I never smoked around my kids. I saw someone driving the other day with their two little ones in the backseat, car windows rolled up and smoking up the car. Ick. Just ick.

It's time to take your freedom back.

They are very strict in the six flags in San Antonio, they will kick you out of the park for vaping - I asked one of the security managers. No warnings, no directions, just an escort to the door. So you did the right thing going in the stinkie area.

Just take a sharpie next time and put ECF where it says Blu*

*Please don't really do that

Maybe they were vaping a cig-alike?

If it isn't posted anywhere that e-cigarettes, specifically, must abide by the same rules as tobacco cigarette users, it's usually far easier to feign ignorance than to ask for permission. Technically, you aren't doing anything illegal.

I don't know for sure - maybe the security at Six Flags are a bunch of Nazi SS Stormtroopers - but this reminds me of "A Christmas Story" ..."You'll shoot your eye out, kid!" :p

Ha ha, I love that movie.

Unfortunately they will say that just because you don't know the rules, doesn't mean you don't have to abide by the rules. But you are right, I am sure if they saw me vaping I would have gotten a warning first before any strong-arm removal from the park policy was enforced.

The guy I spoke to was actually very nice, he explained what the policy was, how they enforce it and why they did so. While I didn't agree, I appreciated the info and made sure I wasn't the one who got escorted to the door.

I feel like if they are going to make you vape in a designated area then it should be separated from the smoking area. I'm not naive enough to think that any place would be this considerate though. So before you respond understand that I'm aware no facility would give up the space for this. My point is I stopped smoking in favor of vaping and I don't want to be around cigarette smokers or cigarette smoke. It now repulses me. To stand in a crowd of analog users is tortuous for me.

I never thought about it that deeply, but you are right. That is a good point. Dont bug me so much, but if it does...

A good thing about vaping vs smoking is you dont get a craving for it like cigarettes and someplace like that if need be you can step to an out of the way place have a few drags and your all good.

I was about to say the same thing. If I am home Im vaping all the time probably out of boredom. But I see when I am out and about I hardly vape at all.
