As do I Edd, as Do I. I am mostly homebound so don't interact with very many folks in the outside world but still do what little I can do.

Unfortunately, working for a school district, I've tried to "enlighten" my coworkers and out of 40, only 1 understands now. :(
Of course, I'll keep on a tryin'.

And one more thing, even out of town, at a conference, not on school property, my boss "forbade" me to have my PV around since I represented the school. :(

Wow. He owns you then. In his mind, at least.

I am truly sorry your boss is a megalomaniac. I don't know what to tell you, other than find other employment if that is practicable. If not, I suppose you must stealth at all times, or quit. That just sucks.

Yes it does suck. "She" even insists on reading our emails before we hit the send button.
I've only got 5 1/2 years to go to retire. So I'm hanging on till then.

We are having the same problem in schools except the kids are not using nicotine in the PVs, but something else.

That is unfortunate. Luckily, when I went to school there were not PV, so nobody ever used something else.

Oh wait, we just burned it and did tremendous damage to our lungs...

I just don't see the use of controlled substances in PVs by a few minors as sufficient reason to ban the possession of said devices for adults.

Well, anytime I choose to violate any policy is because I will do it responsibly. I have put booze in my coke and took it to school games. But I don't get drunk, barely buzzed even. No one even knew it.

Even with a no vaping policy in place I would do it, just not when there are lots of people to see it. Mostly because I don't want the hassle.

But there are so many who will not self police in this fashion and it does become required to ban. In my youth I was so fond of saying that if I ever made it into management I will never, whatever policy seemed silly. Then when I got there, I found out why I had to implement seemingly silly policies too. Now I only answer for my actions but the experience did provide understanding.

I have actually witnessed an argument about how far away from the door this guy was smoking. Pretty comical really, but an outright ban solved that real quick.

When I went to school they just used rolling paper. I agree with you. Unfortunately, this development was bound to happen and it's going to give the irrational fringe of the anti e-cig people more ammunition for their cause. I have no problem with outlawing e-cigs for minors.

A fair point, VL. All that was required for order, was for all people to lose their freedom. I view the sacrifice of individual liberty as an absolute last resort, and the defense of said liberties to be made like the defense of Thermopylae pass...

If you value order over liberty, it is a good reason to "just ban it".

I don't. I do, however, respect your view that is contrary to mine.

Same here. But unfortunately it fuels the "Save the kids" flames.

Ok, off my negative soap box now. Headed off to a scary movie where I may sneak a stealth here and there. lol!!!

Happy vaping to all! :)

My solution was to ban smoking in front where we had picnic tables, then get more tables for out back for the smokers. Which meant a longer walk for me to smoke but stopped the conflict. I did that for many reasons, primarily because I don't have time for this junk. 150+ employees, jobs people need, and so many other problems with supply and demand. In the end smokers had a place to go, and no smokers could get away from it.

An interesting side note is that after this there were few people out front, a lot of non smokers went out back anyway. Go figure.

Seemed fair to me, but in the end to me that was a position I could defend to MY boss. Which never happened, but could have.
