Thought this would be interesting to anyone who used to smoke. 8 years ago hubby's oxygen level was 22%. He had a triple bypass and 1 1/2 years later 2 stents. His oxygen level was 40% after the operations. He continued to smoke over 2 packs of non-filtered cigs a day. Last July he finally joined me in vaping. Yearly check up with his cardiologist was today. His oxygen level is now 77% and he has a very happy doctor.

Very impressive, FranC, and kudos to your DH!!

My son, who has asthma, has a flowmeter. Used to be (when I checked) I could puff out 350. Now I'm blowin' at 450-475. It's a great accomplishment , but your DH's is absolutely amazing!

Very Impressive Pokey. How is your son's asthma?

That is sooo great. I bet you are very happy too. Do you both like the same juices and batts?

Oh my Pokey. That is awesome also. Thank you for mentioning this. My breathing has been so bad, I hadn't even used mine in I don't know when. I just went and got it to see where I am now, so I can see if there is any improvement down the road.

How is your son doing with his asthma?

My son was a big-time preemie, born at 30 weeks and has had breathing problems since...I had quit smoking prior to becoming pregnant. The ordeals we went through after he was born stressed me to the point of returning to that habit. I did enforce no smoking in the house, car, or around him once he came home.

He has grown out of a lot of the asthma problems, but it doesn't take much to send us back on the inhalers. So, overall, he's improved but his lung function is so-so. He sat's 90-92% on good days (which we have a LOT more of that we used to), but a simple cold can really mess him up. His flowmeter results are all over the place but usually 300-400. Our high humidity down south really does a trick on him, as well.

One of my biggest pushes to stop smoking was because of him -- here is a beautiful, young man who has suffered with asthma his whole 13 years of life through no fault of his own and look at his mama! She's slowly, intentionally destroying her own lungs because of her addiction to the ritual of smoking and to nicotine. E-cigs have been the solution that worked; my Buzz kicked the cig craving for good.

He's proud of me, I'm proud of me. Thanks for asking, ya'll. Sometimes it's good to stop and remember what this is really all about ...
