Alright, I just picked myself up the mini 18350 version, and all in all I like it. I have a couple things to say about it though, so settle in ladies and gents. First of all, the weight and feel of the thing in the hand really is quite delightful. It just fits, and I find myself gesturing expansively with it. It's fun to point at things with it, don't ask why, but it is. And bonus, mine came with a fully charged battery in it! Not sure if it was supposed to or not, but I won't complain. By the way, about the batteries. It came with a Trustfire 18350, and those are the kind that fit. All my AW IMRs are just a peench too short; they'll work, but if I jiggle the thing at all the battery loses and regains connection. Not cool. But that's an easy fix. I got the copperwood finish, going for a more traditional tobacco pipe look, and while it does look nice, it does not look like wood really at all. No biggie, but if you're thinking of this thing, I'd recommend going for color. The finish is very pearlescent, giving an almost translucent look to it. Might mimic wood better if I rubbed it down with a very fine grit sand paper, but again, this is all aesthetics. As for build quality, well, it leaves quite a bit to be desired. If this was a thirty dollar mod I'd be totally happy, this would be 5 stars. But, it's a 55 dollar mod, and considering it probably cost them about 10 dollars in material and labor to make, they could have spent some more time. Where the "shank" and "bowl" of the pipe meet, I'm not sure if it is two separate pieces or if it was just the way it was machined, but there is a noticeable seam and I can't help thinking I made it wiggle once. Could just be my imagination, but I'm definitely concerned about fragility. Second, glue is noticeable on the top fake ash LED cover. They couldn't clean that up a little better? Again, not a huge deal, but considering the price a little more finish would be nice. Also, the battery cover has kind of a weak spring in it, and the thread piece it screws onto is literally just glued into the bottom of the pipe. On mine, it isn't glued level so my battery lid is slightly cockeyed. Again, not a huge deal (I could probably pry it loose and set it straight myself no problem) but considering the price they're charging, they really could have taken a little extra time to shine out those details. And the 510 connection isn't perfectly straight either. It's really close enough that I shouldn't complain, but if you're going for a long stem style you may want to pry loose and reseat that connector so your pipe isn't wonky. Last point, I can't tell for sure, but I'm pretty sure the auto switch is actually just behind the connection as opposed to being in the bowl with the LED (there's a little hole there for airflow) so you'll want to be extra careful about juice getting in there, but that's a general precaution on all autos. And obviously, since it's auto, it will need an atty that uses central air path. So, in closing, do I like this thing? Yes, quite a bit. Am I a disappointed in the workmanship quality? You bet. Is that gonna stop me? Not at all. Basically, if you've got the cash to spare and enjoy the idea of a pseudo pipe mod that's automatic, go for it. The fun colors give it a modernistic feel, so you can be sure any gear you throw on this puppy will look good, but if you're going for the wood aesthetic it's a bit of a swing and miss. So, you want something cheap and pipe-ish and don't mind spending ~$60, this is a great get, but be prepared for the cheapish quality. If you want something a little more genuine, or a little more deserving of the price tag, you might wanna keep looking. It seems like e-pipes are kind of blowing up right now, with no real new production entries since the 601 and now all of a sudden there are all kinds of them popping up. So that's kind of exciting, because let's face it; pipes are styling. But in short, if you don't mind overpaying by about double, this guy is great. If not, well, it's looking like some other options will be available soonish.
