nah, it only works in power mode, not temp mode! That whole section of menu is out-of-bounds if you select tempcontrol 1...that had me confused for a good few days...lol!
Heater Control (Operation modes)
The mod can be used in up to 5 operation modes. The mode can be selected in this menu.
The default operation is either standard (0, power setting) or temperature controlled
vaping (1). With the “Expert Mode” (Extended Functions mod-Menu) enabled, additional
operation modes are Heater Protection (2), Power Boost (3) and Bypass (4, mechanical
mod). With Expert Mode disabled, the menu options 2..4 are masked out.

Until you select "expert mode" it's not there in TC
Much problems to copy and past from PDF

Wait, 3 is missing, I'll get it

Im pretty sure the boost stuff doesnt work in TC. I though it would be like a preheat thing but its not I think!

It wouldn't make any sense to have it in Kanthal mode only as it's needed more with NR wire. Eg. DNA
I think PB had a good look at all this in his review...at least someone did. Maybe Todd or did he just give up? You may be right but I had this same disussion when the 2380 and DE V2 first came out and the consensus was that the boost stuff doesnt work in temp control. I agree it would make sense if at least some of it did! I think I will have a play when I get home. Maybe we can figure it out between us once and for all...:)

I found this from @TheBloke about 10 pages back...
'Unfortunately the boost stuff doesn't work in Temp Control. Heater Boost and Heater Protect are separate modes, there's Standard, Temp, Heater Protect, Heater Boost. So the latter two are only for non-temp.'
I couldnt get any of the other stuff to work while in TC so I just left it alone at that point...

I found one of Basardo's for Pipe Line 2, he's off on that one as to what it boosts to so he may have just missed the boat. Wouldn't be the first time but he does seem to try real hard to get things right.

But I did get it to at least show and set in the menu when set to TC

I would just love for someone to explain the power boost settings, the table in the manual kind of confuses me.
BTW, I have it set to 7

Boost modes 1-3 are "preheat" modes: when you start firing, the mod will apply the maximum power (40W, but can be set via "Power-Limit" parameter) for a limited time. These modes are used to get a faster heat-up. The length of the preheat is 300ms in mode 1, 450ms in mode 2 and 600ms in mode 3. After the initial boost, the power will be according to your watt setting.

Boost modes 4-10 will apply a boost not only up front, but will kick in periodically. These modes are used to vary the coil temperature to improve flavor. For example, mode 7 will boost for 160ms with 800ms of normal power in between. With periodic boosts, the average power is somewhat higher than your watt setting. Therefore, you may need to set your watts a little lower as usual.

When trying this stuff, it is a good idea to play with the "Power-Limit" setting too, which is used as "boost power". E.g. with 15W set, alternating between 15W and 40W may be a too harsh while alternating between 15W and 25W may give you a smoother experience.

Edit: "Power Boost" is a separate mode, like "Power", "TmpCtrl", etc. They don't mix.

So the stubborn guy that I am I gave my meter a try and it did well. I set up a DNA200 as close as I could to what I had my 2380 set to. (10 watts, 600 ms boost, ni200, 40 watt boost) Voltage on the Dicodes when fired, 2.35 volts. Voltage on the DNA200, 4.65 volts then dropping to 2.40 volts. No boost in TC mode. Oh, someone already said that....LOL
(used a wet Magma)
This is not my settings for normal use...LOL

So the solution for this lack of power boost was so simple that it eluded me for a bit. I shall simply vape temp instead of watts setting it from 28 watts to 36 watts while leaving the temp at 235C. Seems to be doing what I'm after now.
I run my DNA200's by adjusting watts without quite hitting the set temp.
