This is a strange one. I love my rebuildables. I have 2 aga-t a hydra and a did. I clean them and change wick and coil regularly. Now after I have been vaping these through the day, when I come back the next day and check the ohms on either devices it registers crazy high. 7 or 8 ohms. But when I fire them the reading starts to go down. And when I fire them I get the same vape as the true ohms that they are (1.5 to 1.8 ohms). I have a vamo and lambo and i also check ohms with the ohm checker. It's not a big problem. Just more like a nuisence. I strat vaping and they are alright. Just don't know way they start off reading so high.

I've found that whenever the resistance jumps like that, it's due to a poor connection. This can be caused by residue from the juice affecting the connection(s), and acting as an insulator. Or, it can possibly be the center pin not making good contact with the center post on your device. Sometimes, the center post insulators, especially on the Chinese knock offs, get squished, and make poor contact.

I have an original DID and it is the worse one. But like I said they still fire and start to act right after a while. I've been considering taking the center pins and adding a nice solder blob on the bottom to make better contact. But that might cause more problems.

possible that the wraps are to tight and maybe wearing through some of the oxidation of the wick, but it does sound like a connection thing, but on different gennys? thats hard to believe that all of them have the same issue. and for that matter, how can all of the wicks be to tight like in my theory.

You just might have something there. I do wrap my coils rather tight. I noticed on one wrap I replaced, the coil had burned through. I plan on being more precise on the sizes of my mesh in the future. By measuing exactly how much mesh I need to attain a certain diameter. Then using a drill bit to get a snug fit. But be able to slide the mesh out without much resistance.

yes, when you get a burn through on wick the resistance will be inconsistant. this hole is being caused by a short, which can be caused by coil tension or oxidation issues with the wick. it will get easier.
