I would suggest making better wick/coil until you're happy with the vapor production. Then work on the TH you want, higher nic levels create more TH (has alot to do with it). There are a lot of things you can do to create more TH without sacrificing vapor production.

well thats exactly it. i am extremely pleased with the TH i get from my setup. mostly because i was struggling to get as large as a TH as i crave with 18-24mg on commercial non-rebuildable attys. i kept upping by mg without getting immense TH. now, with the rba im getting huge TH from 18mg jucie - it feels like 30mg+. so for once in my life i thought i could actually step down in mg instead of continually going up and up and up.

i feel like "the right thing to do" would be to get my wicking squared away and worry abotu TH as a second item on my list. which types of methods should i consider when you say there are a lot of things i can do to increase TH? ive tried PGA and it helps but too much of it changes the flavor of my juice. i am a helpless TH maniac. i cant enjoy anyhting unless its choking me with TH. is that weird? dont answer that lol.

oh and ive got an (un)related question...which size drill bit can i get that will match the wick hole on a Dud? maybe i should just buy a crapload of them and see what fits..

I used my proxxon rotary tool (like an expensive dremel) and a diamond burr. Just make sure you have a lot of control with whatever tool you use as it is easy to bore through the inside/outside wall. You could actually just buy a small round metal file and do it by hand, brass and chrome are somewhat easy to work with.

As for more throat hit, Higher nic levels, different juice ingredients pg is supposed to have more th, some tobacco extracts increase th, placing the air hole farther away from the wick is supposed to up Th but lowers vapor production. Here is what I found in a search:

Use mostly PG at a 90/10 mix.
Add PGA or some high octane vodka or rum.
You might want to try spiced rum.

Use a lower ohm cartomizer.
Higher battery voltage.
Use more propylene Glycol.

Other than that I don't know what you can do, trying to make vapor to feel just like smoke might end up in a little dragon chasing. lol

Hi guys just got my clone in the mail from a fellow member here on the forums who got a bunch cheap through a co op so he was nice enough to send it to me no cost. I sure do feel like a newbie again lol. I've rebuilt novas and the phoenix so I've gotten my feet wet already. Haven't tried cotton yet but was wondering if it'll be easy to set up a silica wick on this thing this week just to mess around before I get a torch this weekend. Is it difficult to do?

You have to take all the nuts off the positive post, then uscrew the negative/positive base plate. Basically you have to take it all apart, I always do that when i get a something new but then again I'm a modder.

Done, neat seeing how everything goes together. The clear tank didn't fit right so I'll stick to the standard. Only thing is is these little silicon type o rings that came out somehow and I have to figure out how to get it back on right. I should of payed attention when I was taking it apart lol.

I hate feeling like a newbie again lol.

All of the white silicone o-rings go somewhere around the positive post (positive post slides out).

First pic shows before any mods, the other 2 pics after all my mods also with a ss mesh wick with a cotton wool core.

Well my wick needed replacing so I decided to do some more experimenting. So I decided to go with ss mesh, but this time I put in a cotton wool core inside the ss mesh. This is the best I have gotten the ss mesh that comes with the did to taste decent, will report after a few days as cotton takes a couple days to swell completely and to break in the ss mesh.

The best trick I have learned is to juice burn the coil alone before installation, this prevents a lot of short problems.

you can use dental floss or electrical tape instead of the bottom silicone grommet. or you can mod a juice bottle tip. someone pssted the method in one of these here threads. MisterE perhaps? idk. good to see you rba-ing it btw butters. rock on.

Thanks for the info guys..

Yeah these silicone washers definitely make me nervous. I can already tell they are the weak point of the atty. It should come with two extra sets.

Ha, thanks for the tips boss. Just taking my hobby to a new level. If I enjoy the did clone I may go for an aga-t. Then later if I think it's worth it one of the high priced made in America or Greece deals. Anyone think the mesh that came with the kitchen worth anything or should I buy the good stuff?

If it's from china, I won't run coil over it/vape it/ etc. Chinese Devices=Ok, but wick and coil/standard atties=no go.

Many people disagree and vape anything without giving safety a second thought, and that's ok, too.

It's up to you, but I said this earlier...it brings too many hard questions to mind about where their priorities are when making and selling these things to us.

There, made things more clear. :p

Half of the atties in your blog are made in china. I see the newer posts looks like you're using higher class stuff now. You don't use your vivi nova, did clone, and other genesis clones anymore?

like I said, to be clear...

WICK AND WIRE is a no go for me, if it's made in china. Pre made atties and cartos, too.

Devices are OK, but I still question some of them. My chobra is sitting idle in a display holder, because it is of such piss-poor quality.

I still recommend MANY devices coming out of china. I am actually getting more and more impressed with Youde tech, makers of AGA et.al., because they are doing such an awesome job with build quality, materials choices, and the little details that matter...so yeah, some chinese companies seem to care. Others, well, not so much. I spent years vaping chinese garbage, and it's nice to be more in control of what I'm inhaling... ;)

I despise the Vivi Novas, though, to be brutally honest. If I could, I would send every last one of them back to the factory in china that they came from, and make their creators stand in piles of them up to their shoulders, and even then that wouldn't be enough of a vindication for me to be satisfied. ;)

Ok so I haven't watched every tutorial out there from oxidizing mesh to wrapping coils. I FINALLY get my did clone in my vapemail last night. Super stoked I couldn't wait for my provari to cone in from provape so I figured meh I shall build and give it a go on my twist. Not having any way to measure resistance I was very careful.. I wrapped a 3-2 and a 6-5 .. at first I had mad hot spots then as soon as I get all the coils to glow it would stop working all together.. I fiddle some more with the coils they start burning but no glow at all. Keep in mind that I am twisting from 3.2 to about 4.2 volts trying to get this coil to burn and or glow BRIGHT. Not hapening . :( help!!
