I got my janty dura C and some other stuff, the 1 battery was DOA the other didn't work long, I then built a mod that worked much better. But still had short comings, so I ordered a real mod prodigy V2.

I smoked tobacco till I knew I would have ecigs around the clock, yesterday I got up and had no tobacco, had 2 packs in my pocket just in case. About 1/2 way through my visit at my mom's, my sister asked for a tobacco cig.

I handed her the open package and told her to keep them, a few mins after that, I put the full pack on the table and said take these as well. I plan to take the few carts of tobacco I have left, over to them as I'm not going to smoke if it kills me. :)

Did I quit as soon as I got the ecig...no. I cut down from 1 1/2 packs to about 6 cigs a day. Found that I didn't really need to smoke anymore than that. After 2 weeks when I ran out of analogs I just didn't buy anymore, I won't let myself buy any. I know that I could go back to real cigs in a heartbeat even though I no long crave them, it would be like finding an old friend.

Seriously did everyone instantly quit analogs? I'm still smoking them when my pv charges. I really want to quit them. Just want to know so I don't feel like I'm the only cat doin this or who has done this etc.
I/WE quit right away didnt even crave a real cig at all. I had 1/2 carton left, sat in the drawer for weeks till i finally gave it away.

it took me 3 weeks of going back n forth with analogs until I finally figured out that I personally needded a deeper stronger vaping experience to get me off 30+ years of 1-2 + packs of smoking per day. I got my hands on a silver bullet and got some 3 volt CR123 batteries x 2 and that did the trick for me.

Now I can live with 3.7 volts without an issue but that first week would have been very difficult without a 6 volt vaping tool especially in the am when the jones I have is its strongest....

I am utterly convinced I will never go back to analogs again.

Sounds a lot like me. Got my e-cig but didn't quit immediately. However I DID almost instantly cut my smoking more than half (from 1 to 1/2 packs a day to less than 10)
By the end of one week was at 5 or less analogs per day then, after about 2 full weeks of vaping I was down to 3-2-1 NONE!!!!
I still had 4 unopened packs (which I locked in my gun safe!). Occaisionally wanted one but really enjoyed staying warm (it IS wintertime), and LOVED not "reeking" like an ashtray. After around 2 or 3 weeks smoke free I had some stressful crap occur and I pulled out a pack and lit one up. Couple puffs----eeewww, ick! --put it out. Was still really upset and tried about 2 more time that day to smoke an analog--put both out after just a few puffs cuz they tasted horrid!!!! Now I ALWAYS really enjoyed th flavor of a cigarette and just could not believe anything could/would make them unpleasant to me but the e-cig did. I consider it a miracle!

I definitely did not stop right away. Honestly disappointed in myself. But I've gone from 1&1/2 packs a day to 2 or 3 analogs a day  Not quite the result i wanted but it is a HUGE improvement. My biggest problem right now is my job (just part time, nothing serious), as that is the only place i do have any analogs. But there have been plenty of days where i have not had one nor have i had the urge (off days at home and my PV is more than enough). But i am moving in a couple of weeks and am fortunate enough to have a few months off to myself . . which means tons of time on my new computer and lots of working out to get ready for the summer :p

I am still smoking analogs periodically. And I decided not to beat myself up over it. 43 years pack a day. I have cut down by about one half; and sometimes not even that. That in itself is a big accomplishment to me. However, I do not smoke in my car or house anymore. And I intend to follow that rule strictly.

I tried some snus and some are good but most of them grossed me out. Will be posting later to pass them them on to a snus'er who wants them.

So I agree with many of the other posters....we all have to go at our own pace.

I got a messed up kit and started off with a company that annoyed me to want to smoke packs n drink! However I tried to smoke one the second day of getting my first kit. Only because my battery was dead and the other never worked out of the box. I was desperate for a fix lol I hit it twice and omg.. I was so turned off and felt so yuck, I put it out. I then received my joye510 and then for real hated my first kit n cigs! Fell head over heels in love with vaping LOL Well about a week into vaping, I got super ticked off! I ran to my pack that I bought the day before I got my kit in the mail. Fired one up and took a hard drag and it tasted like total crap, I then took another drag head strong on getting over being ....... Tasted worse, took another and started throwing up! I am now convinced that I love vaping and am confused as all hell of why I was so hooked on cigarettes. I mean I loved them things so much and would spend whatever on them! Now I hate them! Just my personal experience  Ecigs have been a blessing to me! The more I play with flavors the more I fall in love! I have also been downing my mg levels a bit :)

After a shakey start with an NPro, and doing everything wrong, I still managed to stay away from cigarettes from day ONE. I was getting more juice on and in my mouth than in the vapor. After I found ECF a few weeks later it all made more sense, HOW to use the e-cig, no more panic puffs! The juice tasted awful, but a cigarette that day while I waited for the battery was absolutely horrid after only vaping 3 hours. I smoked for 44 years, 2-3 packs of RYO the last couple years. I was a goner, no doubt in my mind. Almost non-functional because of coughing and feeling horrid. I feel alive for the first time in many years.
Good luck to all.

17 December 2009 2pm.
I returned home from work, sat down on my stool in the kitchen and lit an cigarette. In front of me was my package from e-cigs.co.uk. A rn4081 and pcc. I never bought it to stop smoking, more so I was interested in what the hype was about! I finished my cigarette and opened the package. The battery had a charge already so I read the instructions, filled a blank cart with the DK tobacco 18mg and took a draw. The 30 or so analogue's were still sat on the kitchen worktop a week later, so I give them away!
This was 31 days ago. I started smoking at the ripe old age of 9 and now I'm coming up to 44. From the age of 16 I was on at least 20 to 30 a day. I used it like a cig not like a vapor machine. Went to the kitchen for a vape, finished put battery back in pcc and carried on usual routine. If I fancied a cig I went for a vape. Same routine different product. Just once battery died. Forgot to put back in pcc. Pulled my hair out for 30 mins until enough juice in battery for vape. Next day bought another battery, never made same mistake again.

It's been about 2 months since I started vaping, and I am finally about to the point where I don't need to have a cig. At the beginning, I had about 5 or so a day, then, just 1 in the morning, then maybe a few while I was drinking. I still may have an occasional one or so, but I'm not really worried about it because I didn't even start vaping with the intention of quitting! My husband still smokes, and it doesn't even phase me - incredible!
