Did everyone quit analogs as soon as they got their e cigs?

Been tobacco free for almost 11 months. I noticed the not coughing first thing in the morning, about 2 to 3 weeks in. Coughing up the residual garbage didn't start, for me, for about 6 months. A coworker of mine found the stages the lungs go through to repair themselves after someone quits smoking. I'm not sure where, but it's on the internet somewhere. It can vary from person to person, but there is an average out there. Sorry I can't tell you all where to find it.

From what I've read, the cilia start repairing/regenerating as soon as you stop smoking. For some people it can be fast, or slow. It may well take several months before you start sloughing off the old lining. It's been suggested that it takes 7 years for the cells in your lungs to completely replace themselves enough times to erase all indications of cigarette smoking.

I am very new to vaping...2 days in and I have not smoked a cigarette in 2 days. But, I can feel the urge and I am having to concentrate on not grabbing one. Overall, I am very satisfied with vaping (I bought a VP1 Set from Vaprlife and I love it so far) but I really think the key is going to be to not run out of materials (carts, attys, juice, batts) and to start with high nic juice and lower your nic level later.

I only had 2 or 3 on my first day vaping. Two days later, I had my last one. I have no desire either. If I am stressed - I just vape a little more.
I don't think I would ever touch one of those nasties again!

You just need to have enough hardware and liquid so you are never without one while others are charging.

I noticed that I coughed less almost immediately after I started vaping. Recently (three months in) I have started coughing again. Not nearly as much or as severe as when I smoked! I try to remind myself how happy I am that my lungs are getting rid of the smoking junk I forced into them for so many years.

Only six years nine months to go!

smoked for 10 years, about a pack a day. Had some nervous analog cigs the first day while waiting for my first PV in the mail, and I smoked one or two that first day while still figuring out the learning curve of my first ecig, but I quickly got the hang of it and 3 months later still have 8 cigs in the last pack of analogs I bought the day before I got my pv, haven't wanted one since day 1

I do kind of wish I had taken some time to enjoy my last cigarette, instead it was kind of a ...... off/rushed smoke because I was fiddling with my ecig and was worried it wasn't going to work out for me, but it did.. and I never went back to have another "last cigarette"

49 years with the last 20 at 2 packs a day. Started ecigs last April went immediately to 10 analogs a day, few months later 5 a day then 3 for the last couple of months. Finally got to zero late last month, using snus when I feel the need for a supplement.

Bought my first ecig after reading this forum because I love gadgets and thought maybe I could cut down.

Hi everyone!

I bought my first PV last summer - an NJoy. For the first 5 days I didn't smoke anything but that, which shocked me, because I wasn't trying to quit smoking (I had been a pack a day smoker for about 23 years). Then I think something happened to the e-cig, only I didn't know enough to realize it was an equipment malfunction. So I went back to smoking analogs which I waited for my 510 to arrive. I never really used the 510 for some reason.....until Jan. 5, when I did decide to quit smoking.

It's been almost a month, and I haven't had an analog since I quit, but it has been a conscious decision for me. I am still craving them periodically, and I'm not sure why, but I just vape through the craving. It is still like a miracle to me that the craving is like a very very mild irritant, and it doesn't last very long at all.

I know I can stay quit from analogs with vaping. I never had that feeling when I tried the patch, the gum, Chantix, etc.
I agree with you on those other help quit smoking thingies, they just don't work. I went to the e-cig at the end of Dec 09, at first I did lite up and the taste was just not what it was, since they put the fire ......ant in them, smoked half of it and tossed it in the .... bucket I have on my patio. I still do the routine I did with analogs, coffee in the morning sitting out in front on the patio, cold as heck here in Fl., sit at the putor, now and vape, every once in awhile go sit out in front, try to stay with the routine I had with analogs, and it's working fine, I didn't smoke in the house, so it does feel diff. with the PV. So I guess I have been smoke free for a good month and a half, gee times flys, when your vaping.

I am new to ecf and to vaping. Actually this is my first post. I recieved my starter kit from V4L 23 days ago. It has been 21 since I had an analog. I believe it would have been 23 days with no analogs had I figured this out sooner.... the craving for a cigg never goes away! I fell in love with my pv right away but still craved analog (so I thought) about 20 minutes later. So I vaped some more. 20 minutes later guess what? Craving a cigg again! After a while I finally gave in and had an analog. 1 on the first day and same on second. That last 1 tasted horrible!! I realized I would have preferred to vape. I have not had 1 since....
The point I'm trying to make is that I confused a nicc craving with an analog craving. All my body really wanted was some nicc. I upped my mg to 24 and I am loving life. With no analogs I still get to enjoy my fix but my appetite is back, I have more energy, and I'm sleeping better. And oh yeah.....my kids are SUPER proud of me! After 16 years I'm finally done with analogs.
I know everyone's addiction is different but just thought I'd warn you not to make the same mistake I did. Good luck on your vaping and don't give up!!!!
i also had the sick feeling the 2nd day when trying an analog. vaping ever since!:hubba: a valentines treat 4 myself :hubba:

Hello,

My wife and I have not bought a analog for 3 days now. We bought our 510 kits with that purpose. We will be analog free from this point on. I will say this we bought the kits, juice, and atty's, extra batteries, all at one time so we would not be forced to smoke a analog.

It is cool you have someone to quit with you. It will go along way to help each other.

I haven't quit yet...but im hovering around half of what I used to smoke...

My first real reason for getting an ecig was because I needed a new car and didnt want to smoke in it. I saw how bad smoke damaged the interior of my last car...

One of my issues is my gf smokes a decent amount too when she's around me...which makes me want to smoke...yadda yadda...

But im down to under a half a pack...saves me a ton of cash already...

I got my v4l starter kit last thursday. Since then I have smoked 5 cigs/day and vaped nonstop in between cigs. I was smoking a carton/week.

If that's the best that it gets I'll still be very pleased with myself. I have had NO withdrawals, no stressing, and no pressure. I can easily foresee kicking those remaining 5 cigs.......but I am not going to pressure myself right away. I am already starting to feel better.
