Total newb, here. I impulsively ordered the Ec1 from Amazon, and am now questioning my choice. Obviously I didn't do enough research first, and am concerned about the lack of cart resources.

I'm not even sure what type of cart it takes? Is the model easily dripped? Should I consider returning it and getting another model? (I haven't even received the Ec1 yet, I'm expecting it any day now)

I'm scouring the forums and learning a lot. Any advice from someone experience with this model is much appreciated.

A quick search here and on the web in general doesn't show up anything very helpful. Wish I could be of more use but maybe this *bump* will attract the attention of someone who knows about this model.

Hi Sascha,

... and welcome :D

Let me start by saying I'm no expert and I'm sure the good people here at the forum could tell you more than I... however, what I can confirm is that your model is indeed as Nuck suggested a Loong Totem 'clone'. This means it is a two piece design with the atomiser/cartridge combined and then of course the re-chargeable battery.

Yours is from E-cig and there is quite a bit of info on the boards about this particular design.

Others that have the two-piece design are: Loong Totem, Smoke 51 (USA LT), Red Dragon, E-Puffer (Canadian) Bloog and Greensmoke. You can buy the carts from any of these or of course, directly from e-cig.com.

You might like to watch one of our well respected reviewers and self proclaimed e-smoker forever, Leaford's videos below on your e-cig and compatible brands.

These should keep you going for a while :D

The carts are supposed to be non-refillable, but people here have successfully refilled them, just takes a little more care.

Hope this helps :)

Good luck and let us know how you go

Thanks so much for the reply sydgal. You are correct. I received it today and the cartridge is combined with the automizer.

I'll follow up and research the links you gave me, but I'm really concerned about the cost of the set-up. It will be interesting to see the life of the automizer/cart together when refilling.

The cartridges aren't cheap, and I"m a 2+ pack a day analog smoker.....

Thanks for all the other replies, folks. This is an awesome site and I'm learning a lot.

Now, I'm off to do some more researching and decision making....

I emailed the seller and am waiting to hear his suggestions.

Thanks Kate, for the link.

Just to update, the seller is now selling carts on Amazon for about $24 (including shipping) for a 10 cart. At least I'll have some carts to play with.

I'm going to try some of the refilling/topping techniques I've finally found here.

Does anyone know if this product is similar to the other products mentioned by Leaford, can I substitute an atomizer from a similar product and a separate empty, refillable cart?

I'm laughing, I've gone from smoking analogs for 25+ years to wanting to modify a e-cig in just 3 days...

Hi, Sascha!

That looks like the two-piece from E-cig.com, same as Red Dragon or Bloog. You can use the Red Dragon, Bloog, Smoke 51. or ePuffer Magnum cartridges. These are a combined cartridge/atomizer, so no, you can't use another model's atomizer and cartridsges. These work differently and the battery threads don't fit..

BTW, you can get the carts cheaper at Smoke 51, if you use my coupon code. Bloog is the cheapest, but they're out of stock right now.

Thanks Leaford! I've ordered carts from my original supplier, and now some from Smoke 51. I also ordered an extra battery, as this is the biggest downfall for me as a newbie. But I'll get the hang of it, and hope that rotating 3 will do it for me.

I've refilled a few carts with the nic juice that arrived yesterday, but I'm back to analogs for today until I get a better battery system down. I"m pressing DH's good nature with all my recent purchases, so the car charger will have to wait, but may be a necessity for me.

I do admit the analog tasted like **** today, and I loved smelling only like soap until I had one.

Try again tomorrow.....:)
