Hi there,
I would please like some advice as to if I made the wrong decision in my ecig. I am a regular pack to 1 1/2 packs a day smoker, and really looking for something a little better for me atleast as a alternative. Last night I decided I was going to make a choice and order me something. I briefly read through some reviews on other sites and decided on the SmokeTip. They seemed to be really confident in there product and to me that was a big plus. But today I found this site and seen all the comparisions and im just curious if I made the wrong choice in my ecig. Please let me know asap so I can cancel my order if possible.

Thank you.

SmokeTip doesn't sell a bad product, and the prices are ok for what you are getting.

From what I am seeing, you are getting a Kr808d-1 model. With shipping included, and sent in 24 hours, you are NOT getting a bad deal overall.

Once you are settled, you can get refills from them or many other retailers. Just be aware of what you are really getting for your money. 1 cartomizer = 10 cigarettes (roughly).

It's your first e-cig...it's been an adventure for most of us. Ignore the ones who are quick to dismiss. Like opinions, everyone can be an ...**e. :)

Take care,

Ryan

Well from looking at the site and model...

The base model is about average for those rebranded ones you could have done a Lot worst. Seen them sold for a lot more.

Ten Cartos for 20.00 however is a rip off...and wont = 1.25 cartons of cigs.

My suggestion...cancel it. You didnt get totally ripped, but I doubt you will be happy with this model for very long, if at all.

What would you say is the "best" available around this price range?

I've tried em all jBailey.

Fact is, in real life, no particular model is perfect.

When you are a new vaper, all this information is really overwhelming, and everyone wants to bombard you with opinions.

Most of us have tried a LOT of models, and use a few different ones on a weekly/monthly basis.

For me, I love a K808 when I am out and about...but when at home/work, I use a 510....however that's stuff you can grow into.

Just remember, the real victory is the cigarettes you don't smoke. It takes a while to sort out, but once you find the model that works, the flavor and the strength you like, it's pretty awesome.

I don't think your getting ripped off, But I don't think you will be completely happy for long. Model aside, I see the highest nicotine carts they have 16mg. Everybody is different, But if you were a heavy smoker I would look into buying a bottle of juice with higher nicotine... If you go too low you will still crave cigarettes... And we don't want that! :)

Sounds like a common theme - Did I get the right eCig. I'm in the same position in that regard. I ordered an eGo on Friday and am anxious to jump into the world of vaping. I fully expect to have to order juice almost immediately although am not sure of mg I'll need being a pack and a half a day Marlboro smoker. Looks like the recommendation may be 18mg or better...

It uses the 510 atty and cartos, but the battery is a monster... Which is why I want one. I have purchased a lot of different models, but I have been perfectly happy with my 510 for the past year... Till the EGO. lol. Its like a 510 on steroids. I got to test one once when I was picking up carto's from a local supplier. The batteries make all the difference. Which is why so many people buy mods. Huge batteries=loads of vapor.
Hope this helps!

Ah oh... Isn't the eGo basically a 510? Thought it uses a 510 atty...

Not really. It uses the 510 atty but the battery lasts all day. I have the eGo and Riva (they're interchangeable) and love not having to worry about keeping a stack of batteries on hand and charged up. Now I just keep one plugged in and use one and switch them out once a day.

I thought the thickness might bother me but it didn't at all.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE my 510. But honestly the regular batteries last maybe two hours, so I own 6 of them. The mega batteries last quite a bit longer, So I own 2 of those. If I had an ego, I would probably only own 3-4 batteries, because they seem to last people a day or two, and take 15 minutes to charge. The 510 batteries take like 1-2 hours. Its all about personal preference. Want something small and sleek? Go with the 510. Want something a little bulky that will save you from frustration, and give hours of joy from blowing huge vapor clouds? Go with the EGO. lol.

Ego is a 510, but a much more powerful battery.

Jbailey, if you need kr808 cartomizers, you can find plenty of good ones, blanks and prefilled, from many reputable vendors for $7-9 for a pack of five. Look for the newer, higher-resistance ones (low resistance ones are prone to burning). I particularly like the Turbos from VaporNine, but you may also want to try the Megas from Nhaler or V4L CoolCartos.

My advice about nic level is different. You don't want to get sick. I started low and went a bit higher for a while, now I'm back in the 10-12 mg/ml range. I was a pack a day ultra lights smoker and I can't vape anything higher than 18 mg without getting dizzy. What is missing from ecigs is not so much pure nicotine but the whole tobacco alkaloids. MAO inhibitors. Some folks need them more than others. See how it goes for you and let us know.

Another place where you can get quality juice samples is Vapor Station. Great eliquids. You can choose 10 bottles, 5 ml each (choose your own strength) for 25 bucks. And they are really good, adult flavors. Not too sweet, vape beautifully without clogging your cartos. Nhaler is also very good. But if you like sweet, dessert vapes, Ms.T is a good choice. So is DIY Flavorshack.

Have fun and don't try to do it all at once. Ain't gonna happen...:p
