I started vaping yesterday, I am vaping at 18 mg.

I was a 2 pack a day smoker. I smoked about 20 cigs yesterday and vaped too. I don't think I vaped too much. Most of my 20 cigs were before I started vaping yesterday.

I probably smoked about 9 cigs after I started vaping. (I did have hubby go get me some cheap cigs, that I have never smoked before, taste like crap, thought it might help....)

That being said, I have itched none stop since about 7 pm last night. I haven't itched as bad this morning. But a bit is still there... No hives or anything, no headache, no nausea... just itching like mad!

Could I be allergic?
I don't want to be allergic!! My lungs feel better already this morning!

Did you itch? How did you stop it? What should I do??

Thank you in advance!

PG does have a drying effect and a lot of people have some dry skin at first. You may be like most and it'll go away in a couple of days or you may have to switch to VG based liquid.

There's a lot more info in the health section.

These things do work if you get a good device and use it every time you feel the urge to light up. I quit smoking after only a week with a PV (after trying everthing!) after smoking 2 packs a day for 30+ years.

Learn all you can, be patient with yourself and you'll make it. Good luck!

Most liquids available are PG based, so you can assume that they are unless they say otherwise. There are only a few vendors it seems that carry VG liquids now and some of them are listed in this guide:

You can find glycerin which is the same thing as VG and also called glycerol, at pharmacies. I found a bottle at walmart. You can vape this stuff straight, but it's not going to give any nicotine fix unless you mix some in.

I know you just started and are excited, but it does sound like you may be having a reaction to the PG, so just order some VG only liquid and go back to regular cigarettes until the new shipment arrives. For some folks who have issues in the beginning, drinking more water seems to help, however with the itching I think you may be having a true allergic reaction, and figure it's best to just switch to vegetable glycerin.

You could also head over to Whole Foods or another store and pick up a small bottle of NOW vegetable glycerin in the meantime and try vaping a little to see if you have a problem with that (some folks enjoy smoking VG straight, so it's doable) - though without the nicotine you'll still need the cigarettes for the cravings.

Remember, this is just the beginning of the journey for you, so don't fret about the set-back. Also, don't worry about still needing cigarettes as you begin vaping again, don't pressure yourself because once you begin vaping I think you'll find your desire to smoke fade away. Some folks find the desire for analogs disappears right away, while for other, like myself, it took a little longer - all in good time.

Good luck, and hopefully you'll find a mix that works well for you.

Thanks, andrew, for pointing folks to my little project! BTW, Part 4 is now posted.
