excuse my ignorance for this question .. but i am new to this and i did google it and i'm still a little confused. I got the impression that a cartomizer is an atomizer with poly-fill in it that holds juice and that an atomizer has no poly-fill in it. if that's correct . .then if i bought an atomizer to use with my vapage vmod 2.0 .. then what would be on the end of that? would it be just a drip tip or would it be some kind of cartridge with poly-fill in it and then a drip tip? the reason i'm asking is cuz my vmod 2.0 came with a 2.2 ohm cartomizer and i was told to shop for an 1.5 ohm atty for better vapor .. but when i look around online .. i see them but do they have poly-fill in them to hold juice or what? or should i be looking for a 1.5 ohm cartomizer .. not atomizer? .. could someone clear this up for me? thanks

Cartomizer is the one with the filler inside. Atomizer has no filler. The older days just about everything came with atomizers and little cartridges that held the liquid. The cartomizer combines both pieces into one housing, holding liquid and the heater element, hence the name cart(ridge&at)omizer. I have never used a vmod but if you want a low ohm, highly regarded atty(atomizer) look up the hh357 or second to that a 306. Both should have options for 1.5 ohm and you should pick up a drip tip that is specific to them. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

well .. the vmod came with a "silo cartomizer" and i 'm guessing that if i get an "atomizer" .. that i would have to attach a "cartridge" with filler to that and then the drip tip would come after that .. right? .. well i don't want to extend the length of this unit .i like it compact .. so i guess i'll be looking for a 1.5 ohm lr "cartomizer" to replace this 2.2 silo cartomizer .. but thanks for clearing it up for me .. you wouldn't happen to know where i might find a 1.5 ohm LR or similar cartomizer .. would u? this vmod 2.0 is suppose to be universal not proprietary so any size carto will do .........

.... i just google's 1.5 ohm cartomizer and everything that comes up is "dual coil" .. i read somewhere that 3.7 v batteries might not provide enough power for a dual coil carto .. is that true? or is dual coil exactly what i'm looking for or the norm?

I just looked at the mod you have...It is what is called a bottom feeder. that means you can fill that bottle up and it will provide juice to your atty or carto. With an atty on your device you would not need a cartridge at all, just the atty and a drip tip. Also to note you can not use a cartridge with a drip tip (that I know of) but you can use drip tips on both attys and cartos.

I have a VMod, XL version but apart from battery and size it is the same.

I use mine with a 1.8 atty at the moment.

Here is the difference between an atty and carto. In the device less bottle squeezing with the carto but better flavour with the atty.

I have had mine about 3 weeks and am now coming to terms with feeding juice. It isn't that it is hard just learning how to keep the balance of juice in the atty correct. Too much and it spits too little ànd you get that burnt taste.

Upside is that even though I have woefully flooded it at times it has never leaked on me.

I think of it as dripping without the hassle of picking up a bottle every 5 minutes or so. Once you have the feeding worked out it is so worthwhile.

There are definite plans to try the 357 but my Smart Vaped Dripping Atty's have been going strong for 2 weeks and show no sign of giving u0 yet.

I have some Silo carto's but haven't really tried them as I bought this mod to use low resistance atty's at 3.7.

There are a couple of very active theads for the VMod. Would link them but using my mobile at the moment.

well both of you really cleared things up for me .. i just looked at the amg hybrid "atty" that came with the vmod 2 and i noticed no filler so i tried it and i see what you mean about finding that balance for keeping the right amount of juice in there. it's a 2.0 ohm atty and the vapor is "ok" but not spectacular so i guess i'll try that 1.5 amg from vapage .. (i didn't even know they had them .. my bad) .. but at least i get what's goin on now .. thanks a lot!!
