difference between "Chrome" & "Gunmetal Platinum" and where is "Platinum"?

I was missing the Platinum color in the drop down for Shorties, so I thought I'd give "gunmetal platinum" a try. It looks just exactly like the Chrome ones I have. Fortunately, I like chrome so it's a keeper, but is "gun-metal platinum" the same as "chrome"?

Also, I loved the brushed silver, non shiny "Platinum" I have... will they have this particular color again? It's very nice and classy looking and goes with every color cart.

Gun Metal is a non shiny chrome.

I guess I got a "chrome" one by mistake then because it's, well, a chrome one. But I don't mind.

Nope, Platinum is a sliver color but not chrome! More like the silver9grey) cartos if you have one. I love this color! It goes with my silver(grey) cartos perfectly. I wish they would get them in extra long manual!
The gunmetal is brushed steel look..like hat is under your carto color wrap.

Oh no! I hope platinum comes back, it's a GREAT color.

I wish someday they would come out with a shiny copper one, I think that would look spectacular. Fingerprint magnet, yes, but worth it.

i've never seen the brushed silver. although i do have an old hated battery color that i took a wire brush and some steel wool and cleaned up. It is definately brushed metal!

I had a platinum XL manual from the bargain bin (discontinued) which malfunctioned and they replaced with gunmetal, and I like it better.

I'm still wishing/hoping/praying/begging for a metallic-finish dark chocolate brown, aka oil-rubbed bronze. (As is Mary Kay!)

Oh, and in the Diamond series. Along with a Copper Diamond batt!

Me Too! I want Metallic Turquoise Diamond!!! With any colour LED I want! That's right V4L, any colour I want! (sorry, running low on Nuport and getting twitchy.)

My original shorty kit was chrome autos + gunmetal PT. I haven't compared them side by side, but the PT is definitely shiny.
I also have a platinum, which feels textured instead of shiny, and I like it. It goes with every colour carto and it isn't slippery like the chrome, which I always feel I'm going to drop.
Don 't know why, I mean my blacks & diamond purples are shiny too, not worried about dropping those. Must be psychological

Hey MK, I think its time for you to bust out those banners you had the other week, demanding "our" colors (metallic turquoise and dark brown)!

I'm on board with this. We're all stamping our feet until our demands are fulfilled:

metallic turquoise
oiled dark chocolate bronze
and the one that started it all - platinum.

(especially platinum, since it already exists and I've got to think they have a few lying around that have rolled under something. have they checked between the V4L couch cushions?)
