Difference between coils made with R and NR and Just the Kanthal wire?

What's the opinion about the different rba's that us the 2 wire GG style coil (on silica wick) and the ones like the Fatty that use just the Kanthal wire?
I have a Fatty and a Spheroid GP that give great flavor and vapor and I like that it's just one wire... so much easier.
IS there much difference in the vape?

I have a penny and I have not noticed any difference in vape. The long legs the penny and oddy require to make contact don't require resistance wire that heats up, vice non resistance which provides a greater flow of current to the coil where you want the heat to be produced.

The coil leads on some RBAs need to be longer due to coil and post location
Sometimes the leads even need to go through a grommet which will burn
It is not good for these longer leads to get red hot, so no-resistance wire is used between the coil and post

Although you can still use those GG ready made NR/R wires on the Spheroid, DID, Hellfire, Etc.
