Being a gal, I have to admit that my fingernails have scratched the clear coat in places, and the tube is tarnishing in those spots. I guess it would be a pain in the ..., but I would suggest roughing up the copper tube before clear coating it so that the enamel adheres better...and using 2 coats.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy that you went out of your way to coat mine, we wanted to know how it would hold up!

This is sort of like the faucets in my bathrooms. In the downstairs bathroom there is a clear coating that is supposed to protect the brass and keep it from turning. One little nick and then another and now the spots have green under them. With this coating the only way to take it off is to boil it off.

Upstairs I had the plumber put in uncoated brass. He said I would be sorry. I WASN'T. They are a breeze to keep clean and polished using just a damp microfiber cloth.

I have the copper one too Bov. I actually don't mind polishing it weekly as well as the rest of my mods. My hubby tried to get it away from me after I cleaned it. I smacked his hand and told him that it needed to "cure". Then he asked for how long? I replied, "Until I'm dead and gone and oh, it goes with me."

I've been toying with the idea of putting a small length of black shrink-tube on my black Buzz just to see how it feels. I know it would give me a better grip. Not that I really need that, but someone on ECF did that to their Riva I think. It was like a lite green color I think. Anyway, I think I would like the feel of it. I'd just make sure to have the holes at the end of the tube opened and not go past the button. I'd just have it from just below the button to the bottom. It would be easy to remove should I want to. Not sure if I'll even do it, but the idea sounded intriguing.

I'm still tossing around ideas for names. Not as easy as you might think.

My wife never smoked, but my wise .... would have come back fast....with.....Oh --that soon?

Then I'd go get my pillow and get ready to sleep on the couch...for awhile.....

She is my high school sweetheart and knows me oh so well. She'd know I was just "blowing vapor".:)
