I was looking to get some more batteries for a shreck magnum and was wondering what the differences, if any, between the two batteries are. Will the tenergys work? I have the cr2's currently and they work pretty good. I've been offered two of the tenergys and a charger for 18 bucks which sounds like a good deal to me.........if they will work. Thanks in advance for the help...

i don't have one to tell you whether they'll fit or not, but there is a difference in size. the CR2 15270 is supposed to be 15mm in diameter, 27mm in length, but may be a bit wider or longer depending on manufacturing. the tenergy batteries, RCR123A, are also known as 16340s, but these particular batteries are actually about 17mm in diameter and 34.5mm in length....again, there may be slight variance from one battery to the next with tenergy, but those are the general specs. so if you have some wiggle room in your magnum then the tenergy's might fit, though in all likelihood the mod is spec'd for 15 to 15.5mm batteries side to side and not 16 to 17mm, or only 55-60mm in total length, but not 68 to 70mm. CR2s generally aren't the preferred battery, it's just a function of a mod's predetermined spatial limitations. but yes if you can get the RCR123A's in there, it's a much better battery option for you in the long run.

ok right now i have a pvc pipe inside the mod to hole the batteries straight. The inside diameter in about an inch. The problem would be the length. The two cr2's basically max out the length. In other words i have about 54mm to fill. Any other options for batteries for this thing that you know of?

for 6V, no not that i'd recommend. when you said pvc pipe, the magnum mod cam right back to me though. there's threads around here on it, which may have come up with an alternative battery option, but basically, if stacking with under 68mm to fill, you really only have the 15270s and even smaller batteries like 14250s. but depending on how much diameter that mod has, you may want to try a single AW17500 (17mm x 50mm) or maybe even an AW18500 (18mm x 50mm) and use a LR atty. it won't be like vaping at 6V, but it will get you much better battery life than the CR2s, they're protected, and you'll get the warmth of vaping at around 5V.

Sorry off topic, But what year is that SS Malibu you got in your avatar? Wanna sell it if it is a 1970 ?

Its a 72. Not looking to sell it yet. Ive been working on it for 2 years now. Its a ground up restoration process.. The only thing i didnt do myself was the paint. (wish i would have tried at least, not too happy with it!!). My little 350 has just under 500 hp. fun car for sure!!
