Think as many people would eat Sushi if it was just called Raw Fish? Or Escargot if it was only called snail?
marketing and it works.
I would speculate that maybe there's an alien base on the far side of the moon (that's why that side is always faced away from the earth {and maybe the moon is really a spaceship})....................

but that don't mean I believe it

Escargot actually means snail in french, the language of the country where we adopted eating snails from, they apparently perfected the art of eating the slimy things (YEA!)

Sushi however, does not mean raw fish in any language, it is a Japanese word which means sour. It is people who started calling the Japanese raw fish dishes as "sushi"

Perhaps due to the taste, although I have never tried it and I never plan on it. I'm just not that open minded!

:D

But behind both it was never about a marketing ploy... those were both very logical adaptations. There is no logic behind this.

Which means that the 'Joule' information shown on the yihi chip is incorrect...
just as the voltage and watts information was wrong on chips like on the original istick20 and earlier vamo's that used 'mean' calculation was wrong.
Yup. Not merely incorrect but nonsensical. It's the wrong unit of measure; like trying to measure the distance between Kansas City and San Fransisco in gallons.

A "watt" is a specific amount of power. A "joule" is a specific amount of power applied for a specific amount of time. 1 horsepower = 745.7 Watts. 1 Joule = 1 watt/second. I have never understood why the Yihi chip is denominated in Joules, this makes no sense because pressing the fire button does not energize the circuit for a specific amount of time. The circuit stays energized for as long as you push the button.

Perhaps the Time Slices are not defined by how long the User Holds down the Power Button?

Perhaps they are defined as a Unit of Time before the Circuit Board checks to see if there has been a Change to the Resistance of the Atomizer Coil?

I have a wild idea. Why not get someone who has a SX-whatever and oscilloscope to map what happens when they change that setting. I would do it but I don't have a SX-whatever.

That would be the proper scientific way to proceed....still won't measure the real world differences in the vapor that comes out the drip-tip...;)

It's the measurement that really makes a difference to all vapers.

What a Novel Idea.

Check out a Busardo review on it.
One reason that I like his vids.
It is where I learned about what vapers call PWM, actually pulsed or switched DC.
Started reading about PWM in relation to vaping and said why would they do that? No modulation in there that I know of. I figured out it is just switching the DC on and off to vary the wattage and why some make the "rattlesnake" sound.

Did Phil explain what's up with the Joules?

This would not change the amount of power used, that's mere mechanics of programming.

I'm not saying It Would or it Wouldn't. It was more a Comment on Time being measured in regards to the how long the Power Button is Depressed.

I frankly Don't Know and Don't Care what Joules Mode Does or Is.

For all I know, the Circuit Board could be doing Calculations via a Bose - Einstein Condensate and is made from Military Grade Baloneium.

All I really Care About is are People getting Dry Hits when they use it? And do they like it Better than running in a Non-TC Mode?

:)

How'd you know? The boards *are* military-grade Baloneum. To answer your questions, yes, people are avoiding dry hits; and some like this while others do not. It is really good at that one thing.

Yeah... I seem to see this with Most TC Mods. Some Like it. Some Don't.

And I have seen People who Say that TC Sucks with Ni-200. But Love it with Titanium Grade 1 Wire.

This current Generation of TC is Kinda a Mixed Bag.

Early days yet. I have two mods with it. I really do think it is the coming thing. But I also think it isn't *quite* where it will be in a few more generations of software.

You may not, but any owner of a very premium priced $200 mod that has a "Joules Value" setting (only one of two settings that affect TC mode) would surely like to know exactly what it does. Idle speculation based on endless internet threads is no replacement for a proper manual.
