Hi...

I'm trying to find a flavor for my DIY-Liquid that gives me the feeling of the
Menthol-pyros, I left behind.

Is somebody around who can tell me the differences (by own experiences)
between the following flavors from "Perfumer's Apprentice" :

- Menthol
- Creme de Menthe
- Spearmint
- Koolada

I neither want a tobacco-background like Dekang-NuPort, nor a Mint-flavor,
that lots of "Menthol-Liquids" carry with them.

Preferred is "Cool Arctic Winter", so that I can pimp up any Fruit-flavor with it.

Hope my English is understandable, its not my mothertounge:blush:

Thanks in advance...
Willi

Wie gehts? That's almost all of my Duetch, so don't worry about your English, it is fine! :)

If all you want is to add menthol flavor to other liquids, it might be best to make your own super-strong menthol drops. That way you can get the menthol exactly as you like it. There are many people who can help in the DIY (Do It Yourself) e-Liquid section, and here is a discussion about doing it:

Menthol Drops Recipe for Menthol Lovers.

You might need a few more posts here in the New Members Section before you can post questions there. It is nothing against New Members, it is only a method to keep automated spam from ruining the forum.

Also, if you tell us what brand of cigarette you smoked, somebody may be able to help you find the right flavor. For example, I smoked Kool Filter Kings, and it is a straight menthol flavor. The menthol crystals are an exact match. If you smoked something like Salem, it will be a different menthol flavor, and you would have to add mint or something.

Good luck!

I somehow refused to think about crystals until today, but after reading the
145 posts, I prepare to visit the drugstore around the corner tomorrow.
Have to cut out the most important parts , when I get home tonight...

No problem for me - I will do my best, to get over that hudle ;)

Well, I'm not hunting for the taste of pyros - just that Menthol feeling:
"Could anybody please close the doors and windows? It's getting cold in here :2cool: "

:toast: Thanks for the recipe-link, seems I already got most infos I needed ;)

This topic gives very good info on flavorings.
missing link... ...also not allowed when quoting :p
Thanks for this quick help, too - alot to read, again.

Note post 2 Awards Section at end.
For Menthol, not mint, I have used the LorAnn Creme de Menthe, a small amount works so you may only need 1 drop/ ml.

Well, I'm just planning to order some things from Linda again and to avoid
problems with the customs, I want/have to stay under 23€ ;)
So I have to decide, which of the 5 flavors do(n't) fit my taste.

Therefore, 5 more concrete questions:

PA Koolada: like solubled crystals?
PA Menthol: any "background-flavor"?
PA Spearmint: like wrigleys? if yes, which of the wrigleys-flavors?
PA Creme de Menthe: with mint or not with mint?
PA Wintergreen: with mint or not with mint?

I hope, one of the Menthol-Maniacs reads this, otherwise I have to create
some more intelligent posts to cross the hurdle into the other threads

Anyway:
weekend waiting outside the door - have a nice one (weekend, not door :p )

Non-intelligent posts also count! Like this one, for example. :)

I would like to be more helpful, but after the first 2 or 3 months, I found that I no longer wanted menthol flavor. That is quite common for menthol smokers, as it is also common for people that hate menthol cigarettes to discover they like to vape the flavor.

I do understand how important it is to find that menthol "kick" when you first start, though. Later, try mixing in some vanilla and/or sucralose. It sounds odd, but I LOVED that combination, the sweeter the better.

Well, I'm vaping for 18 months now and only Menthol gives me, what may
be called "throat hit".
I prefer "Ice-Flash"

Whenever I was allowed to test another flavor, I missed it, no matter how
strong (18-24-36) the Nic was.

To get a good balance of Menthol and flavor (e.g. Strawberry, Pineapple,
Apple) is my last "vaping-challenge" as I already found the hardware, that
fits all my needs.

hm...
seems tommorrow I can try to post somewhere else, too, especially, where
the Menthol-Maniacs hang around.

Have to study some :rules: before again...

1 "Menthol-Maniac" here. That's all I have ordered.

I added bold to Vanilla above - that works great for me.
"Pineapple" you mentioned is another I have considered, but not done yet.

Ha! That will teach me to make assumptions based on "join date" and number of posts. :D

No,No, quasimod, don't step back, please.
You found a very good way to "introduce" a Newbee :toast:

And I will take some time to visit my basement this weekend.
Promised, yesyesyes.
Hopefully I'll find the Abacus back from my schooldays to send it to you. :D

Might make it more easy to count from May, 2009 to July, 2010 ;)

Ohoh...
And now I'm on my run for 15 posts, to be allowed to use links in my posts.

Willi, I'm in the same boat.
Which one, Linda?
"HMS Ice-Flash-Junkie" ? -> read "Menthol Drops Recipe for Menthol Lovers"
or
"USS Low_on_posts" ? -> just hurry up

I give a forward pass:

I've had luck with a flavor called "Minty Menthol" at eSmoke.net.
Well, as IMPORT of Nic from outside EU is not allowed in "Good Old Germany"
for privat use, I/we mostly stick with Liquid, that European shops offer :(

Nice menthol flavor, no tobacco taste. A little on the sweet side. Its my menthol vape of choice.
I cross my fingers, that you don't get disappointed, when odering suply.
I often had the problem, that the next charge didn't taste like the first
I had for testing, or thta "Menthol" in real taste was "Mint".

That lead me to DIY, as it will only be my fault, if a second charge doesn't
taste like the one before, cause I didn't keep the recipe ;)

Unfortunately "DIY-Liquid" is tabooed (sp?) at the German forum I have been
in for all of my vaping-career, und I now have to pick together the English
that I learned at school in the '70s to understand the infos here and make
others to understand my posts ;)

Enough smalltalk ATM, there's an eGo-BIG-Atomizer waiting for rough testing
