Different liquid bases?

What is the difference between the following?:

PG Base
VG Base
PG+VG Base
VG+PG400 Base
PG 400 Base

I'm trying to order a backup D2 battery so I can use my same charger (also ordering D1 adapters so I can use D1 cartomizers.) The website I'm looking at comes with a couple of free cartomizers and it's asking me what base I want. I didn't even know there were different bases!

If you have suggestions for better D1 batteries, I'll take them! Just looking for something cheaper than the 51 Duo.
