I'm assuming that "PG400" is a weird abbreviation of PEG 400 (which is already an abbreviation), but I've never used PEG 400 so don't know what it would do to a mix exactly. It is more popular in Europe, but I don't know why.

I'd suggest getting a bottle of PG and a bottle of VG and determine which you like better or which mix of PG & VG you like better. (That assumes these are all 0 nicotine bases.)

If you are wanting to know about the best carrier for you nicotine solution, it depends on the nicotine strength and what viscosity you prefer you juice to be, so I wouldn't even attempt to suggest anything without more data.

I get most of my supplies from wizard labs. I get VG, some PG, and nic in VG base carrier. flavor extracts usually come in PG base. I usually mix at 80% VG for my juices. Really liking it. I tried many ratios of VG/PG and found my current mix the best for me. I'd recommend trying 50/50 then a little bit more than a little bit less till you find your best desired blend. Same goes with nic mg and flavor %. I'm currently doing 10-12% flavor and 12mg nic. Everyone has their own preferences, just have to change it up from time to time till you find yours. Took me almost 5 months of vapping to find my true love. lol

I found a place on the web with over 200 flavors and you can specify the PG/VG ratio or have just straight VG base. I'm still too new to give a comparison but I'm considering putting these items in my shop. I'm in a working-class neighborhood and require products that the demographics of my region can afford with a good enough quality to have a return customer base. You can also find "organic" juices out there. Happy experimenting! I'll be watching this thread for the expertise of others as well. Good post!

This is very true, especially when it comes to your flavors. There are countless threads discussing the ideal flavor percentage for just about any flavor out there. Many first-time DIY'ers will use the recommended percentages and not try anything else. Flavor, especially e-liquid flavor is very subjective.
My advice, only order a few flavors at a time and explore each flavor individually before you start mixing. Be sure to take good notes for reference. When I get a new flavor I first make a 5ml test batch at the percentage suggested on the forum. Lets say the suggestion is 12%. Then I make one at 18% and one at about 6%. Drip each one and access the flavor. Then mix half of the 6% and half the 12% to make a 9% mix and taste. Then mix the other half 12% and half 18% to create a 15% mix.
Now you have 5 different strengths sampled and you should have a pretty good idea what strength you like. Just my 2 cents. Good luck exploring DIY and please be extremely careful with the nicotine!

hey my supplier offered up to 48mg nicotine? is that abit too high? what is the recommend safely level for nicotine?

I would not call it too high and you should be able to mix it down to the nicotine strength you want. Basic precautions with handling and storage should be followed. I regularly mix with a nicotine solution that has a higher mg/ml strength than 48mg/ml.

I am currently making my mixes at 18mg/ml in nicotine strength. What nic-level is your target?
