I recently bought an USB VV passthrough for desktop use. I have an ego battery already. 147-1.jpg

Here is the problem. Taste is warm and smooth with passthrough, its much harsh/strong with ego battery under following conditions

1. Same output voltage 3.6 on battery and on passthrough. I measured with multimeter.
2. Same tank, same liquid, same coil.
3. Same airflow adjustment

I removed the clearomizer after a puff with passthru and put it on ego. Did this swap few times. But there is a difference in vape taste.

I was wondering what am I missing here...

I'd suspect that your voltage measurements were taken without a tank installed, no load.
That being true, the addition of a load (tank) would most likey cause the USB VV to actually be providing less voltage than your 'no load' measurement.
My theory is that the ego bat can supply a higher current to your tank than the USB VV (1-2 amps vs .5 amp). Increasing the resistance of you tank's atomizer should minimize the difference in performance between the two power sources.

Thanks. This helps. Actually I measured with no load. Will check it again :)

I had to reread the first theory, and an amperage limit on the pass through could be the culprit but I'm more inclined to thing it has to do with airflow. I know you stated the air flow was at the same setting but maybe you covered an airhole using the pass through. Or perhaps the Ego connection on one or the other obstructs some air. IMO air flow is the most common culprit to a harsh vape.

I understand. I use ONIYO vapetank. The airflow control can not be altered by battery thread. Here is the picture.
