^ You won`t be able to pull the air tube out unless you disassemble the base - this is not necessary and certainly not advised.

Those images are from a brutally tortured Siren that I sacrified for informational purposes only - it is dead now.

The insulator just needs a bit of jiggling and gentle persuasion, it`s a perfect but not tight fit.

Incidentally, yesterday I bought a "dental pick" on Fleabay, exactly for things like this and removing awkward o-rings.

I tried to separate the deck from the base several times, even on my 25mm Siren and just couldn't. How did you manage to get it separated Fad ??

Edit: OK, I just re-read you're above post again, "Not Necessary and not advised".

Got that right. I just re-adjusted my G2 (that's what my 22mm is sitting on) FSK temp curve down from 9 to 8.5, and my TC temp down from 240°F to 200°F, so a definite kick down of power since I tightened that positive post up. Less power and less resistance on the same build, that's a good thing I would think.

I'll tell ya Fad, you're pictures are a real help. Sometimes I can read a well written text (such as you do) and can understand it completely and fully, and sometimes I need pictures before I can "Get It". Thanks for all you're hard work on this, we appreciate it immensely (at least I do).:thumbs::thumbs::thumb:

Does this mean if I put an o ring on. This is where it should go as well?

I had mine for 2 days, found seepage when I removed it from my Therion.

Which fits here~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

^^^ This is where I put the o-ring initially.

That`s right, the o-ring will sit just below the threading on the air tube....

it should fill the gap between the airtube and the hole of the base, where the airtube sits inside...

the arrow on the bottom image shows the location where I have placed this ring.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I haven`t tested this long enough to be able to say whether it helps or not - BUT, it will be 3 full days this evening (Friday) and only 2 out of the 4 being tested with o-rings have seeped at the base...
...and that wasn`t a lot of seepage either. So, it`s looking hopeful at this time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I managed to get the grommet slice over the airtube this morning...a bit fiddly but possible :sneaky:

So let`s see how that goes over the weekend.

Thanks Fad. I'll try that.

I'll have to disassemble the post, slot the o ring on and assemble it. Will post my findings.

It just occurred to me a doubt... maybe I'm stuffing too much ( for a normal rba) cotton in there and that's the reason why I'm not getting leaks ?

Basically when I fit the cotton in I literally twist the cotton in order to fit it into the coil, otherwise it wouldn't get past the coil at all!
Despite that I never get dry hits !

I use Rayon and even with a 3mm inner diameter coil - I must put so much wick inside, it`s tight inside the coil, that seems just enough to fill the wick holes.

Cotton acts a little differently as it swells by a certain amount (from what I remember)

Basically: I don`t think you can stuff too much in there !

Whether it`s rayon, cotton or matted clumps of dog hair....there`s just so much in there it seems difficult to be able get a dry hit.

~~~~~
I wonder if anyone has tried Rayon AND cotton simultaneously - the wicking capability of the rayon plus the packing ability of the cotton combined ?
~~~~

I`ve said it before and will again - I think there`s too much wick than is necessary for this single coil device

Just look at the excess build up inside that deck, it`s not surprising it gets out where it shouldn`t.
