The Sweet Spot titanium wire I've started trying out recently is certainly clean and fairly easy to work with. There was no residue when wiping it clean with an alcohol soaked pad before coiling it. The wire has some modest spring to it, but that has been very manageable. It holds its shape very well, at least in 0.4mm (26 gauge) format, when you pull your wick through coils made from it.

On the other hand it really doesn't vape clean. Which is to say it gets gunk buildup on it just like as any other coil wire I've used, but the gunk buildup does occur a little more slowly. Because it is titanium, it is more difficult to clean the wire when changing out your wick, since you can't just dry burn the stuff without a care like you would with SS wire.

I heat the coil up on one of my mods in TC mode with the max temp set at about 500F, then dunk the coil in cold water to shock the gunk buildup off of it. This works okay, but I still have to use a brush to finish up with cleaning the coil before I wick it again.
The coil does eventually come out "cleaner" looking than other TC wires I've used, but there is some effort involved. Doing this while out-and-about is a lot harder than doing it at home. Having a SS brush on hand helps. Plastic or nylon type brushes just don't do the job as well.

The titanium wire does run very smoothly in all of my mods though. Even my iStick Pico 75W mods deliver power fairly smoothly to coils made from this wire. My iStick Picos did not run SS very smoothly at all, but my DNA 75 mod had no real issue with SS. The DNA 75 still delivers power more smoothly when running titanium wire coils, of course, but I think that is to be expected.
Flavor is kind of a subjective thing. I can't tell any real difference between titanium, SS and Resistherm NiFe30 when vaping. The 28 gauge Resistherm NiFe30 wire coils just tend to bend and break very easily, so that material can be a bit of a pain to work with. I've had no issues like that with titanium or SS wire coils.

Is the higher price of titanium worth it compared to SS wire? Power can be delivered to it more smoothly, allowing you to get a little more vape performance out of coils build from it, and gunk builds up on it a little more slowly. To me that is worthwhile for my chain vaping MTL needs, despite it being harder to clean. It is probably not worth it to most people out there, unless they just want to try it out simply for the sake of trying it out.

I've totally given up on using even 3mm ID coils in this RTA. A 3.5mm ID coil allows enough wick that I typically don't have leak issues if I use enough wick, but still get decent enough juice flow through the wick to the coil.

With a 3mm ID coil, even when I fluffed the ends of the wick a bunch, I could still get leaks. If I used enough wick to not to get leaks, I would often end up with too much wick jammed in the coil, limiting juice flow and the quality of my vape.

The thing is, for MTL vaping, a 3.5mm ID coil in this tank is pretty large. Performance isn't really what it should be, but it is better than getting a better vape at the cost of having regular leak issues.

This RTA really causes me a lot of trouble, but I still use it regularly just because it is a 4ml MTL tank that works pretty well when I do my part to make it work. I suspect the V2 is going to end up having pretty similar issues. Being limited to a 2ml juice capacity (for now anyway), I don't think the V2 will be worth all the trouble I regularly invest in my V1.

I've not yet tried a 3.5mm coil in any of my Atomizers. I might do that to see what happens, if anything different. I know that past 3mm with 28g, 30g twisted or smaller wire, the coil starts to loose it's shape pretty easily and tries to collapse on itself after I take it off the coil mandrel (or Coil Master Jig), so I never loaded one into an atomizer to try. I'll have to research this more fully though, I'm curious now.

That makes 2 of us!

I just did Chels. I wrapped a 3.5mm, 28g Kanthal, 5 wrap coil and put it in my Siren 22mm. So far so good. I also noticed the top o-ring for the glass tube seal was a bit frayed on one side, and looks like it was pinched on the other side (this was a factory o-ring BTW, and I had never had the glass out), so I replaced it with one of mine, a 16x1mm Buna-N 70 that I bought from either Theoringstore.com or O-ringsandmore.com (I don't remember which, but I got a bag of 50). It seems to be sealing the tank for now, but time will tell.

This is the biggest coil I.D. I have ever run in any of my Atomizers. Again, time will tell. I'm getting 1.05Ω in Temp Control with my "Black & Silver" HΩ Tech 'G2' set at 10 watts, 93°C (199.4°F) and xxx mode, with a FSK setting of 11.0 (I Love HΩ Tech mods). Also am running a strip of KGD that's 11mm wide to fit those wick slots. I think I have put all the spec's of my build here if anyone is interested in it.

Hi guys I'm wondering if any of you have same issue as mine with Digi Siren ... I bought it last week with Istick pro and premade coils Clapton 0.8 kernal 26ga wrapped 30ga
First few days I loved but right now I need regularly clean the main chamber and driptip I can taste the liquid when I vape
Voltage doesn't really change anything
The liquid are 50/50
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong that my first setup with that coil
Before I had nautilus x 2

Many thanks

The only time I taste a bit of liquid is if I take a few sneaky vapes in bed *cough* or when I'm stressed and unintentionally draw a bit too hard.

I've been using a Clapton coil as well for the last week and no issues there apart from the extra juice consumption hehe.

Not sure what is going on with your setup sorry.

Hi all, previously i have been using the siren 22mm and all is well. I have bought a siren 25mm and recently have been facing some leaking issues.. I usually build my coils at 3mm diameter which is same as for my build in my 22mm siren. The leaking is through the air holes, anybody facing the same problems as me?

Hey Dannykato, I will get the same thing IF I use that short, small holed Black Drip Tip that comes with the Siren and ½ of the smallest air hole on the air flow ring. If you are not using that Drip Tip then it could be from several other things, like coil too high off the defuser which makes it closer to the drip tip bottom opening, drip tip (not the one that comes with the tank) with a very small hole (like a 2 or 3mm opening), drawing too hard, using ½ of the smallest air hole or less, or any combination of the above. That's all I got, hope this helps you some.

Read back in this thread starting at page #108 for the work-arounds.
