It's my own fault Chels, as I seem to not be able to leave well enough alone with some things . One would think that at my age, I would know that by now.

I enjoy building coils so much that I often pull out a perfectly good coil to try something different. That doesn't always work to my advantage!

After trying a 3.5mm I.D. coil myself i would say/agree, this rta is probably better suited for it, i can`t comment regarding seeping as i`m putting N.E.T. juice through it and re-wicking after about 3/4 of a tank,
but with the 3.5mm I.D. coil i don`t feel like i`m potentially half choking the coil with cotton to make sure there`s enough for the wick channels.

Digiflavor say there`s more room in the V2 for bigger coils, i wonder if the wick channels are bigger too.....4.5mm I.D. coil? :eek:o_O

It sounds like there going backwards instead of improving the design. o_O:(

Right now I have a 4mm I.D. (5 wrap @ 1.45Ω in xxx mode with an FSK of 12.0 in TC mode) 28g Kanthal A-1 coil in my 22mm Siren V1, and so far it's doing VERY Good, so in my opinion the V1 has more than enough deck room for the bigger coils (Claptons might be a different story though). I have KGD wicking cut to 11mm width and slightly rolled length wise on a straightened paper clip so as to be easier to pull thru the coil, but, I see not much difference in using the 3.5mm I.D. coil in 28g Kanthal with a 9mm width KGD wick. I'm trying a 4mm coil I.D., just to see if it would fit/work on the Siren deck (my coil legs measure about 3mm each side). Who knows, I might even try a 4 wrap 4.5mm coil at some point in time, just to see if it could be done, and what that would do to performance. Vaping is so interesting, and fun, because of all the variables that can be changed, some will work out to be better than the normal way of doing a build with this RTA GTA, and some won't. We just have to try different ways of doing things to really know for sure. I'm one that gets bored easily, so I experiment with my vaping setups, and let ya'll know the results. I have a lot of ideas flowing thru my head at any one time, and sometimes, one of them actually works.;)

I have changed out my bottom glass tube o-ring cause the original one that came with it was leaking a bit from being compressed so many times over it's life time (I could see liquid on the outside of the glass tube bottom). I tried one of my spare 19x1.5mm Buna-N 70 o-rings (I have a pack of 50 I got from TheOringStore, so why not) for a replacement seal for the glass tube bottom, and I'm proud to report that it is working just fine (after 4 tank fulls that is). The original "clear/white" o-ring that came with my Siren 22mm looked (and measured) to be a 'round' (not flat) 19x1.5mm o-ring, so I took the chance and tried one I already had a bunch of (although it is a 'black' one, not clear/white). So far, So Good. I first tried a 19x1mm o-ring but wasn't happy with the fit, as the metal base where the glass tube fits in is just the tiniest bit larger than the glass tube itself, plus the original o-ring measured thicker than 1mm (but being compressed/uncompressed so many times I can't be sure of it's true thickness). My o-ring stash was handy to get to, I would have had to dig around for my Original Siren box with the Original spare in it, so I went with my stash instead.

Hey, what happened to the "Likes Button" on the bottom of each post ?? Consider me giving you a "Like" kydo, as I can't find the button.

Back when I started vaping and got on this forum, 3mm coils were considered very large coils and that was what I ran (most other folks ran 2mm or 2.5mm coils), now I'm running a 4mm coil in my Siren 22. Like I said before, I think a 4.5mm coil would fit just fine on the Siren deck (3.5mm coils seem to be the size that fills up those HUGE wick holes, but not choke off the coil), I know I went up to 4mm but didn't notice any improvement over the 3.5mm coil I.D. size. The 3.5mm coil I wrote down that I used a piece of KGD that I cut to be 9mm wide, and the 4mm coil I used a piece of KGD that was 11mm wide, but didn't seem to choke off the wick holes any, so we got that anyways.

Hey Moderators, what happened to the "Like" button on the bottom of each post ????? I really "Liked" using that feature. And where is the place that tells what Moderators are on duty at any given time. Is it just me, or did the site software change ??

OK, I just found out what's going on here with the site. There's been an upgrade and the "Likes" are not functioning just yet: Yeah, I'm a bit slow.

JUst an update for all you Siren-ites out there:

I'm on my 7th tank full in my Siren 22 since changing to a 4mm 28g Kanthal coil, and last night I decided to just grab my air flow ring and twist, twist, twist, twist back and forth to see how slippery it got. I kid you not, it was "Dry as a Bone" after all that exercising. Now That even surprised me !! But can I replicate that feat, that will be the true test, in other words can I do the same test, with the same results, after I re-wick this thing. Vaping is Sooo much fun.

5-2 and I are running side by side in this sort of Digi experiment marathon, tho I'm only on fill #5. I've been sooooooooo happy with it for all these fills. Why? I used cottone instead of rayon. It only made sense to me to use the fatter wicking material in those enormous channels.

    All went well ...... until........

I started fooling with it. I (for some obscure and unknown reason) decided it might be fun to fill it like a KF. So I top filled it, then put the top cover on partially. Then I turned it upside down.

    Ummm, WHAT was I thinking?

I waited for the liquid (like an eternity) to slide all the way up, or down as your visualization would have it. Whilst waiting, I suddenly noticed that my hand was damp. No, not damp really. COVERED IN ELIQUID!!!!!! Yikes. No more KF filling.

A wet paper towel followed by a dry one, and I did get it cleaned up. Dry as a bone again, and I promise all of you that I will restrain myself from doing weird things with my Siren.

Totally agree. Some Atomizers just taste better and work with Rayon, whereas some other Atomizers need the expansion of Cotton. Myself, I have never tried Rayon in any of my Siren's, as I saw all the talk of leakage and seepage reports being posted and thought that a large extent of those reports were because of using Rayon.

It's been awhile since I have put up some Vape Porn. Here is my newest G2, and of course, my Siren 22 sitting there all Proud.

    P1010282 (Custom)ecf.JPG

Specs. are: 28g Kanthal, 5 wraps - 4mm I.D. with KGD wick @ 1.48Ω, xxx mode with an FSK set to 17.0, 12 watts, 4.2 volts. My new G2 I just got over @ VaporCube for $38.95 (no coupon needed), the Digiflavor Siren 22 I got from Kat who found it on the Classies for me (Thank You Kat).

After 8 re-fills my Siren is still "Bone Dry", and this after 10 tank fulls with my 3.5mm I.D. build which was also "Bone Dry". It seems to me that thus far the trick is to build 3.5mm I.D., or larger, and with KGD wicking to be sure that those "BIG" wick slots get filled with wicking. This is just what I have found (over these many months of testing) to work for me when using the Digiflavor Siren V1. This RTA GTA just tasted too good to let a matter of some leakage get me down, so I set about in finding a cure for this Siren's ill's. That's why I have "Endeavoured to Persevere" with the Siren.

Yes, as ya'll see, I have the second to the smallest air hole open. I am trying some Restricted Lung Hits. Boy Howdy, that gets the old head to spinning after too many of those hits. ;) I think I will go back to TP'ing and use the smallest opening. Oh, BTW, I can switch holes without having a slippery air flow ring when I'm done. NIRVANA !!! Can I get a Wit-neeeess ??
