So I concocted a vanilla juice that was a might bit strong... I Just diluted it with 4 mls of 12% 50/50 plain, and it made me wonder if it is necessary to steep an already steeped juice after dilution?
I think it would depend on how big your original batch was. If it was 10ml and you added 40% more plain to dilute,it may need time for the flavoring to fully diffuse with the addition. A larger batch ,less so. I'd go by how it tastes to you .
Steeping really means "mixing, or ripening or mellowing over time". Once its steeped, you should be able to dilute it some without a problem, but it still needs to mix thoroughly.
Just about everything I steep for a week or more seems to get strong then stronger the longer it steeps. When I dilute I let it steep again. How long had your original batch been steeping? I got lost after I read you put 4 ml of 12% 50/50 plain though
