I'm going to bed but will type up the steps I take. I'll do a video in the future. I'll check back in the morning to answer questions.

Materials:
510 XL CE2R4 Carto
3ml BD plastic syringe (no needle)
1 empty Lipton pyramid tea bag
Filling syringe
ejuice
eGo

Tools:
Pipe cutter
Tweezers (small, pointed tip kind)
Sharp hobby knife

Steps:
Remove black sticker from carto and all three rings
Cut carto with pipe cutter about 6mm (or more) from the battery connection
Remove carto from tube
Adjust wicks so they go all the way to the bottom of the carto and are even
Trim excess wick from free ends
Remove syringe plunger
Cut top and bottom off of syringe
Twist wicks around carto stem
Slightly widen bottom of syringe tube (I jam a ball point pen up it and wiggle it around)
Insert into syringe tube, bang on the desk a couple of times to get it seated properly
Lay out PTB
Fold 1/4" flap or do it twice if you really want more wicking
Cut strip ^
Hold strip against the tube and trim the bottom to just above the battery connection
Insert PTB strip down the inside of the tube along the cup slits
Repeat on other side
Increase size of slits on the fill ring
Insert modded fill ring (this is the only tricky/hard part but I personally think it is important)
Fill modded carto w/eliquid using a syringe (no need to measure, tube is see-through afterall)
Insert second ring
Insert top cap OR drip tip (drip tip helps cool vapor)
Screw on to your battery and vape away

Note: I always keep the stock wicks AND add PTB. More wicking is better than less IMPO. I think the reason I don't like stock CE2's is because they can't wick worth a damn. Plus, every one I've cut apart has wicks that aren't the right length to get the whole tube.

Good luck. I'll check for questions in the morning!

ok guys I went crazy and did all 5. They are BD syringes from CVS. Taste excellent, wicking really good and I love this mod.
I got bag of PTB from Target but no PTB mod yet. THANK YOU guys, Couldn't have done it without all you guys.

Looking great, it's hard to stop once you get going!

Thanks Turbo,
It sucks lot of juice, I can go easy 6ml a day with this mod.
I noticed that too. but I'm back on just dripping for now cos my syringe E2 was leaking from the bottom and i didnt want to glue it. maybe i can find some "O" rings at lowes to stop it from happening.

Misterd...if you use either the BDs or I think the monojects (I hope so cus I just ordered a bunch of them) they won't leak...what are you using?

There are other issues that can cause leaks on these. One I'm finding is condensation buildup flowing back down the air flow tube, then out the batt end. I know my syringe isn't leaking on the bottom. I tested this by cleaning out the condensation, refilling and letting it sit overnight; dry as a whistle. Even w/ the q-tip swab test on the batt end. I'll be closing the gap some on the next.

Another possibility is the post/tube lost it's seal on the bottom from abusing it by trying different syringes, etc. An 'o ring' may give extra insurance as long as it doesn't effect the taste any.

Let me know what you find out.

I use the only Terumo brand and have never had a leak from the bottom, but yes it leaked in the bad in my pocket. I'm going back to the black plugs witha smaller hole punched in it to see how they do. I don't have any wicking problems so far without the PTB and I've filled these things so many times, they should be dying soon!
I thought one poped last week but when I came home I cleaned it and did a dry burn it fired back up! I couldn't believe it because it was dead! I've been using it ever since. So, if one pops and you think it's dead, it may just need cleaned, don't just throw it away!

Ok, same here 'storm'. The mod itself doesn't leak but we need to find a way to make these pocket friendly. If you discover a way let us know. I'll keep trying too. Since cart condoms are too small I went to Lowes to try and find a solution. 1/2" bolt caps almost work.

I think I figured it out!! Cut the condoms a little shorter, they fit perfect on both ends! I cut about 1/4 inch off, it works great!

The condoms work but I haven't run in to any leaking from any of the ones that I've made thus far. I carry them in my pocket all of the time. Is someone having a problem w/leakage? Sorry, I must have missed that post. These BD syringes barely have enough room to get the carto seated, let alone leave room for a leak.

Man,,,, about 10 days ago I got the latest release of the CE2R4 version 2in the XL 2.8-3.0 ohm and they are really working so beautifully without doing anything at all really,, I pop off the first small O-Ring then remove the ceramic cup Silicone cover,,, Drip until they are filled up since you don't need a syringe like this then just put the small O-Ring back on, Im not leaking anywhere and the vapor production and taste is very good to me, just running these on a 1000mAh Ego too

Mwa -

For me, there are two reasons that necessitated the (heavy) use of this mod.

First, the cartos were ok but didn't wick as fast as I vape. When I cut some apart, I realized why. None of the cartos have wicks that are adjusted properly.

Second, I never knew how much liquid was left. I'd get a 'burnt' taste way too often and way too early.

Now, I have the wicks properly adjusted, I have PTB strips increasing the wicking rates and I can clearly see the liquid levels with no guessing required.

For a $.50 investment plus 10 minutes of my time, this mod is definitely worth it to me.

Even if you love the stock version, you should give one of these bad boys a try!

The Kendall monjects and Terumo's don't leak either, at least at the base. I had to force my monoject on the CE2 base. The BD's are almost 30mm thinner according to the 'pdf' posted earlier.

If you could, measure the ID of the BD syringe in 'mm'. I'd like to see if it matches the 'pdf' measurement.

The Turemo's has 2 different ID's, either end works but obviously the smallest is tighter. Are the BD's the same on both ends?
I just figured out a way to use my whistle tips too! I missed them terribly! Let me know if you want to know how I did it.

Ahh, the monojects probably do too. Sure, how do you use the whistle tips? What kind? Are you going back w/ the black plunger piece?

Ya, I switched back to the plungers. I cut the whistle tip off at the seam where it would normally end at the atty, took the little piece out of the mouth piece and drilled into the top of the mouth piece to create more air flow. Basically bore it out from the top. Fits perfectly on top of the black plunger. I made a few more and left them a little longer, it slips in snug so the BD's may be even more snug. They may fit in the others I just haven't tried yet.

Sounds great, I'd like to see a picture. 510 whistle tip? Is your black plunger piece right on the ceramic cup or just above?
